Money issues aside, E92 M3, GTR or R8?

Just want to know the opinion of the people on this board. I know there is quite a difference in price between the 3 cars however lets hypothetically say you comfortably own one or the other but not all three. (Working man not baller) What would you choose? The performance number on the GTR is staggering and just can't be ignored. Is the R8 and M3 just plain slow compared to it?

My preference is M3 then GTR then the Audi. I don't think the M3 would be slow compare to any of the cars but definitely the GTR kicks ass, but I'm not looking for a race everytime i'm out on the road. The M3 got everything I am looking for in a car, plus it looks damn good!

I haven't driven the other two, so I can't say one way or the other. The M3 is for sure better looking than the Nissan hands down.

If you are a performance junkie then the GTR.

If you want the best of all worlds, performance - comfort - class - looks.. the m3

If you have money to burn and want a badass looking, attention-grabbing pussy magnet car, the R8

just my opinion. also, a nissan will always be a nissan.

european cars = class

I voted for R8. Design is beyond words...easily the hottest car on the road.

everything being equal I would probably take the Nissan.... always had a thing for German sports cars but overpowered techno infused Japanese sports cars really get my blood flowing

If money is no object then R8 for sure. If money is a factor, without a doubt M3.

I don't know about being a "dum" question, but I was hoping people can look at it objectively and not just through the M3 bubble. People who can afford an M3 can also likely afford a GTR and with a bit of a stretch an R8. I wanted to hear the opinions from people who are actually more biased towards the M3 to see there perspective towards the other models. I'm a huge M3 fan btw. (Missing my E46 everyday).

I appreciate your comments.

Actually that is a valid point. For the price of R8 Manual, about 125K out the door you can almost get both an M5 (Used) and M3.

Here's my take on it since I own two out of three in poll.

R8 - feels slower than it actually is going. The quattro system has advanced quite a bit over the years and the Rtronic is like the SMG, but smoother. There is definitely more grunt down at the lower RPMs and the sound can only be beat by a Fcar.

M3 - feels like it needs a little more torque. The throaty V8 sings above 5k and actually sounds quite nice. I would say pretty distinguishable from the V10, but nonetheless you can tell something special is coming down the block. The interior is not quite as nice as the R8, but a nice step up from the 335.

Which would I pick. Depends on the lifestyle and the roads I travel the most on. If I do a lot of daily commute through the hellish 405, then I would no doubt pick the M3. It is much more of a daily driver and more comfortable. If I do not get stuck in traffic on my daily commute, then it would be the R8. It can certainly be a daily driver, but the seating position (no matter how I position it - I'm 6'2" 200 lbs, it's not very comfortable) for me I can only bear for no more than an hr's drive. In the R8, there are times that the larger SUVs do not see me in their blind spots and come pretty close to tapping me. Never had this problem with any other sports car I've owned.

That is not an option.

I would choose the R8 for the looks.
