While I have only tried the Powers John's Lane Whiskey, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I checked a couple of stores around here and unfortunately don't see the Powers Signature Release available at the moment.

For Barr an Uisce, the 180 is available at a few stores, but listed as limited availability, while the Wicklow Rare seems to be readily available. Thanks for the tip on the Wicklow Rare! This will be the next Irish Whiskey I pick up.

Here is what I'm able to find in my area:
Powers John's Lane Irish Whiskey (Limited Qty): Description - Single Pot Still. Matured mainly in bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry butts. An abundance of earthy aromas, leather, tobacco layers of charred wood, dark chocolate and treacle toffee. Long, smooth finish. Best Irish Whiskey in 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Powers Irish Whiskey (Gold Label): Description - Bright and heavy aromas of toasted rye, fresh butter, green pepper and warm biscuits. Starts off peppery in the mouth with notes of cardamom, green apple and spiced earth. Warm, deep finish. CHAIRMAN'S TROPHY FINALIST 92pts. - 2014 ULTIMATE SPIRITS CHALLENGE

Barr an Uisce 1803 (Limited Qty): Description - Voted top Irish whiskey by the New York Times, the 1803 is everything you want from an Irish malt whiskey. Deep and sophisticated without being obtuse or unreasonably intense. The nose is crème brulée and fresh vanilla bean. The palate is medium to full bodied with a dark spice and sweet tropical fruit. Bits of exotic aromatics keep the finish lively and lifted.

Barr an Uisce Wicklow Rare: Description - Pale gold in color. Aromas of vanilla, honey and baked fruits. Very smooth entry, then expansive with a mouth coating, oily texture. Mid palate shows a nuttiness and warmth with hints of raisin and plum. Long, clean finish with subtle marmalade notes and caramel.

Excellent, thanks. I might pick up the signature one just to try it out next. I have been getting some grief about how large my collection is getting, so time to kill a few bottles before I add to the collection. But definitely intrigued by the Powers now given it was compared to the Barr an Uisce.

And I'd love to try the 1803, unfortunately we just don't get all the same stuff up here that you guys do (but then, we also probably get a few things you don't, so it all evens out I suppose).

Why is it that guys who obviously have serious cash flow, also have that cheap shite is large quantities???? I went out marlin fishing on a 38" Bertram with some lawyer. He's talking about how much he spends on this and that. $5800 binoculars, yet when I go down to mix a drink (after finishing the flask of Basil Hayden I brought around 10am, all he has is Kirkland. I poured a nice draft of the Scotch, and "accidentally" left the red cup in the back holder and it filled with salt water. The "best" he had that I could actually drink was Bacardi/diet.
Dude, you have more rods than rod holders, this 38" beast that skims through 3' chop at 20 knots, and I have to dump Scotch over the rail because I can't stomach the stuff. W T F????

Of course, I don't t agree with the placement of my Plantation XO 20,its still my favorite. But I will say the number one on this list, is absolutely in my TOP 3 and was my first "Premium Sipping RUM" that got me hooked on rums nearly a decade ago. If you never tried it, you must!

Most recent pickup was a bottle of wine - called Stave & Steel.

It's a cab sauv, but aged in bourbon barrels. Extremely smooth and good. After I sampled the first bottle, went out and picked up 8 more bottles before they are gone. I'll just save some of them for a few years likely.

That Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is really good! Definitely worth the effort looking for or having it ordered. Locally here, it's @ $45.

Definitely keep me posted on your impressions.

I'm actually putting in a order for this:

I have read about this one on a couple of rum sites.

Just put some diplomatico in a glass with ice. It's good. Need to do back to back with plantation. Think its bit less sweet. Would say it's about equal.
