Oh yes, good point. The previous M6 had a screaming V10, taken from the M5. And what an engine that was too.

No, BMW didn't sell many, but still glad they produced it. I was never a fan of those 1st Gen Bangle designs myself, but the V10 itself was magnificent...but of course far from bulletproof, as it's hard to find many that kept them beyond 100,000 miles because of the soaring repair bills.

Got gas at Costco on the way home today and saw one covered from nose to tail in bird droppings and two flat tires sitting by the tire center.

I think it's rare to see one that's taken care of, unfortunately.

Before I bought my first E92 M3 in 2010, I test drove an S5, nothing about it did I like. Mainly I had always driven RWD BMWs, and I did not like the quattro at all. Before the test drive I was sure I was going to go with the Audi too. I am so glad I didn't! RWD for life

Horrible car. Engine feels like a ship anchor. Suspension destroys you. Beautiful design, but everything else is wrong. Crown Victoria feels more agile.

THREAD UPDATE 4/22/19:
I was wrong about the turbocharged part of the Audi description. Obviously it is N/A: The Audi is a 2007 RS4 with 94k miles, several mods, clean CarFax, a long list of repairs and service history for $27k. The seller owns a repair shop and is reluctant to allow PPI. Advice for my friend Drew?

My advice is that the first sentence is a red flag.

Show him the episode of top gear where that rs4 gets smoked around the track by an e92..

Not allowing PPI is a bad look. Run...

Tell him to buy an E9xM and to drive it daily and park it next the E30 at night.
