275/35-19 rear tire rubbing - M3 E92

Hey guys.

When I hit bumps with passengers, the rear right side tire rubs. The left one doesn't.

They are 275/35-19 with the Style 220M Wheel, which is 9.5" width, and there is no spacer.

I'm wondering if I should use a rolling fender, since my fender seems to be abnormal.

What do you guys think?

With that size tire you should roll fender to give you more clearance. In the future I would've ran a 275/30/19 tire

That's nonsense. I have 275/35-19's on ZCP wheels with a 10mm spacer and I have zero rubbing and I'm lowered on H&R Sports. Maybe your alignment is off and you do not have enough negative camber.

Thank you guys.

My actual rear camber is:
Left: -0º54'
Right: -0º48'

Could this be the cause? Should I run like -1º or less?

Actually I'm thinking that maybe the fender had some repair in the past ownership, and should go through some adjustment.

About the tire height 35, it's OE, right?

The next tire I'm thinking on buying 265/35/19 (decreasing tire width), which I think is complete OE, since I don't go to track days, and don't need to have so much increased grip.

275/35/19 should fit by a mile on the rear of your car without spacers. Something must be wrong with the fender liner or the suspension geometry.

Rear fenders can't be rolled, they dont have a lip like non-ms. Trying to pull them ruins the fender imo, so I wouldn't try that.

Something sounds wrong with your rear suspension, have it checked out.

Your camber is far less than even BMW recommends. I believe BMW recommends -1.5 to -1.8. That's likely your problem. Either that or there's a spacer installed that you don't know about. You should be able to fit a 275/35/18 PLUS a 12mm spacer without rubbing.

My guess: car was hit hard, repaired, and aligned by somebody who had no idea what to do with it

Are my eyes deceiving me, or can I literally see a ton of toe on that right rear?

Your eyes have got superb skills

Actual toe angles
Left: -0º07'
Right: +0º26'

I'm going to correct as soon as I can. I went to the workshop to make the allignment, but there was not enough time to do the job, so they made only front axle, and the rear is pendent until I come back there again.

Awesome! Hopefully that settles it.

That doesn’t look like factory finish on the wheels either

I was noticing that too, looks good though. Most people just paint the 220s all black. They look good in all silver like that too.

Something to do with your alignment. I've ran a 12MM spacer on the rear 220m without any issues.

I was more pointing it out as further evidence the car's been crashed hard and it hurt the suspension
