Everyone knows this is the mod you do if you're trying to race below a certain power/weight in Gran Turismo and can't quite keep up. Half a second/lap

The reduction in rotational mass (which is deceptive in a positive way, as it is actually worth a lot more than the equivalent rotational mass savings from a flywheel) contributes to less parasitic drivetrain loss, so while it will not add any power (impossible for it to do that as it is not a power adder), it will result in an increase in power measured at the wheels

I don’t think they have gone into production yet. There are a few prototypes out for testing. They made them a few years ago but got into a dispute with their manufacturer and have been trying since to restart production. Supposedly they are close now.

PM MFACTORY to get on the pre-order list. A limited number are going to different buyers for different regions. After all testing is done, and pre-orders ship, they should go into normal production.

Just some notes for install,
I slipped the driveshaft into the transmission guibo then hung it with zip ties off the ebrake cables as I did it solo. On a dct you need a very thin wall 18MM socket to tighten this from the bolt head if not you can remove the 4 t55’s that attach the transmission mount bracket to the gearbox and torque the driveshaft from the nut side of things. From there I raised the Differential back into place and caught all the etorx bolts on it first then fastened the diff into place. I did not have to manipulate any of my heat shields as I spun the driveshaft over by hands as well as with the car in gear there was no contact. The car does feel much smoother on take off and the shifts feel more aggressive. One thing to note you will feel the clunkiness of the dct much more with this especially at lower speeds. With that said I would do it again just for the way the car feels, the throttle is much more direct once you’re moving. |

Pm MFactory and they'll add you to the list if you put money down on a deposit. It's $650 to buy into it and another $650 when they're ready to ship. I was told 4-6 weeks before they're ready.

So far so good with my pre-production shaft. 2 track days and 1500 miles.

I'm sure mFactory has their own suspected weak points they're going to look at when you send it back but can you get a high res, well-lit shot of the interlocking portions of the carbon tube with the yoke/shaft ends next time you have the car in teh air? Very curious how it holds up and how it looks on the car. I'd be surprised if anything is visible but seems like those 90-degree corners could be stress risers

The last response to my inquiry was something to the effect that their engineer believes they will be ready near the end of the month. Didn't specify May or June...
