PSA: Dirt cheap CASTROL SYNTRAX SAF-XJ LSD diff fluid.

Just a public service announcement.

RMEuropean right now has 1L bottles of OEM Castol SAF-XJ for $20.80 plus $7.50 flat rate shipping while everybody else is selling 500ml bottles for $27. Grab it while you can if you need it it's basically 50% off.

This is the OEM LSD fluid without friction modifiers that you can add yourself if groam is a concern for you.

I am in no way associated with RME and earn nothing. Needed some myself and figured I'd share a good deal.

Shipping is more than the two bottles alone for Canadians... Sigh.

You can buy friction modifier separately and add it. You also don’t need to use BMW’s preferred 75W140. There are other brands with good reputations. I used the BMW stuff last time and will buy aftermarket this time.

sketchy? until 2010 SAF XJ (made by Castrol) with extra FM was only optional for those US consumers that complained about groan in slow sharp turns.

I used this in my M3 LSD....no noise what so ever.

How often are you guys changing the diff fluid?
.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

rmeuropean my go to oem shop. One of the few non ECS outfits left.
They're great for crush washers if you know what size you need. You can get like 20 for the price of one OE washer.

Redline for diff seems to work pretty well for me though. Groaning went away or maybe I just broke in the diff.
