I received it too. BMW will start sending out notices next month. I've been aware of the issue and tried to have my dealer replace/fix the cable when I had them do the airbag and blower recall last year. They told me my 2010 M3 was not included in the battery cable recall. I tried to tell them it was. They said based on my VIN it was not part of the cable recall. They said if I receive a recall notice, thats when they will fix it...

its the same recall on the non m e9x that came out years ago. they finally now included the m3 and diesel variants to the recall. basically its splicing in a new power cable that feeds the fuse box behind the glovebox....

FYI:Make sure they put your carpet and panels back in correctly. They broke almost all the tabs in my passenger doorsill and did not properly reinstall my carpet.

lol since I got the recall done, my cars been having some electrical issues.
1) The battery was somehow drained - at least I got codes of the computer trying to wake up the modules but it didn't. If my car wasn't connected to the trickle charger it would have been dead most likely. My time reset again after setting it. 2) This one is odd: I have BavGruppe V3 Round Rings, they're the switch back but I don't have the turn signal wired up so it won't act as an amber signal. Yesterday while doing some work, the passenger side angel eyes went Amber while the driver side remained white lol. Probably some coincidence here but I made a follow up appointment with dealership to see what's wrong. I told them if I get the codes again I'll attempt to resolve myself and cancel my appointment

I read somewhere that this could also be the reason why some cars that sit for just a week could get a low battery/quick discharge error. This has been happening to me and have inspected every fuse for phantom drain. Nothing. I have since had this recall done and hope it fixes my battery drain issue. This is also a BRAND new battery.
