2008 M3 with TopHifi and Bluetooth Phone integration - Want to add A2DP streaming
So I honestly tried to read up on this topic and just can't wrap my head around the shear number of variables. None of which seem to match my case.
Since I already have functional bluetooth for voice/calls, I assume I must already have the necessary FZD module (I have the SOS button on the sunroof control module). I also have a TCU module in the trunk, 84.10 9181276-01 from Continental. What do I need in order to have A2DP functional? Note: I do not have iDrive. Thanks |

Is there no way to replace the HU with an LCI model with built-in bluetooth? Something like this: BMW 1 3 Series E81 E87 E90 E91 LCI Professional CD Radio With Bluetooth 9243922 |

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F223310030269 And what coding would this involve typically? |

If I do replace the HU, how do I connect all the various parts? USB port, Bluetooth antennas, or can the new HU just use the pre-installed box for Bluetooth? I also want to preserve the logic 7 setup. This is so confusing. |

If you look at this it looks like the head unit needs a mic wired to it to work. I would buy the ebay BT box and be done with it. 300 euro is a lot for a radio that may not even have BT media. Edit: The European pro radio only has BT calls. |

Thanks Nickco.
Just bought that box. I guess I just need to add the CD changer to my VO and that's it. I'm just not entirely sold on the way it basically emulates a CD changer and its limitations. |

I used it with my pro radio and CCC retrofits and I had zero issues with it. BMW made an ipod interface that works in the exact same way except with only a USB connection.

Don't get me wrong. It does work and sounds great over USB/SD card, and even the bluetooth A2DP sounds decent.
Just that there are a few annoying limitations, like no support for folders with more than 99 songs*, and only 6 folders are supported (emulating a 6-disc cd-changer). *With more than 99 songs, it still appears to work but the song names/file names are wrong, and thus you can't select the song you actually want. |

I had one of those CD-changer emulating interfaces in my E85 Z4 and it worked a treat. BT audio stream and call quality was excellent, and supported iPhone USB (in iPod mode) with steering wheel controls too.
Was super easy to install since I just had to pull a cable out of the factory changer, and plug it into the box. Obviously I had a factory changer, so didn’t need any coding. |
