2013 e92 M3 Dyno - 365 RWHP Stock

Went to EAS today to get a baseline dyno of my 2013 M3 today with only 300 miles on the ODO. Car is 100% stock. As some of you might know, the 2013's run the 240e software, which may have something to do with the results. EAS mentioned that the highest dyno number they saw on an M3 was 357...so the result was surprising to say the least. Here's a vid of one of the pulls...enjoy.

Amazing results Longboarder and well done with the data measurement, EAS.

I recall EAS posting a dyno of an AW E90 M3 that put down 364whp and 267wtq STD. Which looks right in line with your results. I'm kind of bummed out, I thought Melbourne Red was the fastest color, but clearly it's Alpine White

Please do more runs with your exhaust setup too before the boost!

Very nice numbers...

Are you positive it was on something later than 231E?

I'm not completely convinced unless you verified the revision it has. I have tuned a few 2013 cars and they all had 231E.

Now that you have a good baseline it's time for mods

Saw this on EAS youtube channel. Great run! Impressive stock numbers! If you ever want to sell the ZCP rims, I would to love to have them on my '11 AW E92. Let me know! Would love to see some more vids!

Ahh see its Mineral White...the metallic flakes give it a couple more HP than the AW

Sorry but in order of mods, I'm gonna install the supercharger first, then the exhaust (catless MRF mid pipe and Akra slip), and then the meth...and then a bunch of little tweaks. I want to see the delta I can get with the mods on top of the blower. I'm cautiously optimistic that I can gain another 50 - 75 RWHP with the exhaust, meth, fine tuning. Thinking 510 wheel with just the blower and 580 when all is said and done.

Good question...no idea about the differences...but when I come back to dyno I will be comparing apples to apples...i.e. SAE stock to SAE with the blower.

I'm actually not positive and so if you saw 231E then maybe I'm wrong. I heard about the new software and was assuming perhaps that factor fine-tuning accounted for some of the power. As soon as we crack it open next week for the supercharger tune we will know for sure and I will let you know if it's 240E.

Holy crap! You're chucking a supercharger on a 2013? You are a mad bad man! Car looks great, great dyno results and respect on going FI

BTW, out of curiosity, did you consider a GTR or anything like that?

I verified your SW after your dyno session since you were one of the first MY13s through the doors. You are confirmed 240E.

Good chatting today, see you for round 2 soon.

I'm a total dyno n00b but by the comments, sounds like your car's power is tops for a stock E92 M3.

What's the 240e software? I'm wondering if I have it. I guess I should google.

EDIT: Can't find anything searching 240e using the search function. Got any links handy?

240E relates to the software version of the Engine ECU (DME). Newest confirmed software version on the M3 is 240E at the moment.

Longboarder is definitely one of the highest baseline M3s recorded on our dyno.

Thanks Tom.

Should the dealer be able to check what software version I have? If so, will have them do it when I go in for my 2000 km (or 1200 mile) break-in

Dealers use a different method of determining software levels, which points to a base level of the entire vehicle - they do not have the ability to update specific modules or determine a version of a individual module.

Dealer will not be much help in this department. However any autologic-equipped facility or any of the performance flash tools (ESS, HEX OR Evolve) will ID the software version of the DME for you.

355 rwhp SAE is about as good as any M3 has done on a dynojet. It does look like BMW has been fine tuning the software for more consistent and better performance.

SAE is very roughly about 2-3% less than STD. They are methods of standardizing uncorrected, real world, actual that day results to a comparable power level by adding or reducing power to what it would be under certain air density (temperature, humidity, etc) conditions. On a cold day, a car will actually make more power -- what you feel in winter is real. And on a hot day, the car will actually make less power -- and you feel that also. Rated engine power is just output under standardized conditions.
