Airfare is cheap. I say do it!

quick question for anyone who has PFC Z54 kit. Is the rotor DD V3 or a different one? I wanted to see if I get DDV3 to begin with and use it as back up once I get Z54 kit.

and a question for those that tow- do you lock your car while in transit? does the tilt sensor set the alarm off or anything? i'm not sure how that works... first time towing anything.
Not arguing with StripclubDJ ,but my experience towing my 2011 M3 from Knoxville, TN to McKinney, TX after if broke down on my move, is different. I locked the car (had a few 10’s of pounds of ammo and some guns in it) and had no issues with the alarm going off.

maybe it has something to do with a factory alarm? is there such a thing, or is it nonsense? i've forgotten to unlock it when jacking it up and set off a siren... so i'm thinking it has something.

I've had it go off in transit... It's annoying because the car autlocks itself when you unlock it unless you open a door (maybe this can be coded out). So you end up setting it off constantly until you stop, do the door juggle and carry on.

My car alarm goes off 100% of the time it’s on a trailer and starts moving. I lock it at night when parked and then wake up the whole hotel when I forget and start to drive off the next morning.

Hitting the lock button twice on the key fob should disable the tilt and motion sensor.

As part of all that it has been recommended to me to add the anti-knockback springs so I ordered them. They're pretty inexpensive so probably worth adding.

noob question
what do the anti-knockback springs do? (i'm going to Google after posting this question)

I got ST60 in front because i kept reading that the stock brakes were no good
and I thought I was going to be some badass track beast once I got my M3 ...

but I have been out just once and realized that 2 years away from the track is a long time and I need to work on fundamentals

They prevent knockback which can give poor pedal feel after hard cornering. Here is a great definition I found:

Anti-knockback springs are mainly for race use. They will avoid any pad knock-back after high-speed cornering.

The knockback can be caused by the wheel bearing flexing under an extreme load during long high-speed turns. During turn, it will cause the rotor to push the pads/pistons inward resulting in a softer pedal feel until the pad touches the rotor again.

With the springs in place, the pistons and pads will be pushed back against the rotor after the turn and avoid any slack in the pedal feel.

For street use, anti-knock back springs will result in slightly more pad wear. If you experience pad knock back on the streets, you should probably look into doing more track-days!

I must have done this reflexively. Do it that way because of the dogs when I leave them in the car (when temps are appropriate).

Guys,
I am looking for 2 tire donation in size 285/35/19 to check fitments on my car.

If you have something that is still good for at least one trackday let me know.

At least one member reported and confirmed yesterday that he has no issues with 285/35/19 in the rear on ZCP.

Let me know what you have

I am not sure.
Slicer was not committed on the size but another member says it fits.

Until @slicer says it is ok, I am nervous on trying with anything expensive

You will see the alarm clown noise go solid too for a few seconds to confirm the disable

Mine chips twice when I unlock
Makes no sound when locking
And I don't get other indications that something os disabled.

I did make some chirping noises modification with Carly. I forget now what. So perhaps there are choices in the Carly settings

Hmm maybe that's only if you have alarm? 🤯

275/35/19 PS4S fits on my stock ZCP and factory alignment but I still occasionally get rubbing in the rear. The “fit” with 285/35 may not be great.

I’d ask around with local tire places to see if they have used tires in that size. If not, I’m sure they can get you in touch with the company they send their tires to for disposal if all you want is a test fitment.

thx.
The 285 is kind of an odd ball and only makes sense if I can find something cheap on eBay.

So far a "less expensive" option for the rear is the The Indy 500 which does not come in 275/35/19

Since the PS91 comes in 275/35/19, I am not sure if the Indy 500 is that much better to take a chance on the size.

Having said that, If a pair of 285/35/19 show up on eBay for $200, I want to know if that is an option
