Great Leasing Deals for 08 M3s for SoCal

I just read The Sunday L.A. Times (Classified Section) and it stated that Nick Alexander BMW is asking for $0 down and $799 plus tax a month for 5 M3s they have on the lot. I think they are sedans, not sure, but anyway I think the sedans look much nicer than the coupes. Enjoy.

It is actually from Beverly Hills BMW and states that it is a 36 month lease which totals $31,173 at the end of the lease with "heated seats, prem. package, 19 inch wheels, tech package, prem. sounds, satelite radio and more."

Ok, after reading all the lease deals out there. I will post the deal my local dealer is offering to me.

08 E90 SSII/RF MT
All available options except for cold weather, backup sensors.

The car is a demo and it has 1700 miles on it. I am planning to lease it so I don't care about that.

Numbers:

2000.00 down
0.00025 MF
768 includes everything per month
10k mile per yr

What you all think?

^ thats the car that every dealership got. Let me guess, MSRP is $66,945?

I'm in negotiations on one right now. Same interior/exterior color.

MSRP $66945
Sale Price $59,945

We have not come to a final payment yet as we are still negotiating my trade. I have negative equity. Without the trade, 15k per year, my payment (with TN taxes) would be $794 (at .00025). We don't have state income tax, so our taxes are a little high.

May I make a suggestion? If you have an extra $2,100-$2,250 that you don't need for 36 months, instead of paying $725 acquisition fee, take the .00003 hike in MF, to then turn around and put that $725 towards 3 MSD's ($2,100-$2,250, dependent on your end-lease payment). Your end MF will be .00007 (lowest possible is .00005). Doing that drops my payment $40.59/month. So over 36 months, if I get the deal I want, I'll save $1,461.24. Just for tying up an additional $1,400-1,600 dollars for 36 months. Even without the trade drama, it drops it to $754 from $794 that I stated above. Pre-tax from $742 to $705...

So my deal, probably the same car, is $742 pre-tax, but I'll get to drive 5,000 more miles per year. I bet they can do better, unless you have higher taxes in NC like we do in TN.

Marcus,

NC auto sales tax is 6.75%. All the dealership might have the same optioned demos so I am not surprised we might be looking at a very similar car. I spoke to my SR and he said they cannot lower the MF. I am required to put 1 SD to even get to 0.00025 rate. BTW, that quote is for 10k per yr. If you have some solid number for the deal, please PM me so I will bring that up to my dealer and see they can even match that. Or if you not going through with your deal, tell them to contact me.

Woops...

Looks like I took the "15,000 miles per year" part OUT of my original fax. So this is a question I must ask today, I believe I mentioned it over the phone, so hopefully the payments he's quoted me are NOT for only 10,000 per year. I also will be asking, today, about raising the MF to NOT pay the $725 acquisition fee, then to reduce the MF by putting down multiple security deposits. My first one is waived because I'm a returning BMWFS customer...

I'm surprised that your CA wont let you buy-down the MF. Maybe he/she is not familiar with that process?

Here is a thread on the process, but watch the 0's, some posts are incorrect. It is -.00007 per security deposit. In your case, your reduction would start at the 2nd security deposit.

Yeah, you got to make sure. Your number seems to be for 10k per yr. But if you can get 15k, I will not complain. The car MSRP is 66,xxx but the SR can only go down to 62100. He kept saying 500 below invoice is the best the sales manager can do and there's no point to sell it if they are losing money on it. So I asked him what will happen to the car if it doesn't sale, he said the owner will just take it for his own personal use. I think if he can give me the car for 60k, he would have a sale already. Oh well!

how much are your dealers charging per mile for going over? it's weird cuz my friend's X5 charges like 35 cents per mile at one dealer. i noticed my contract said 20 cent per mile on my contract. 20 cents is not bad.

I didn't bring it up, my CA did, he told me during our first conversation that they're "hold-back" is 5% of the MSRP. $66,945 x .05 = $3,347.25. I think right now, we're somewhere about $500 under invoice on my deal. He said that, good for me, his dealership doesn't "floor-plan" very many cars, this is one that is not, so in their books, they have no added cost from having the car on a floor-plan program.

If the deal is only for 10,000 miles, I might still go for it. I want to let my ZHP go, and this is a good way to get rid of my negative equity for GOOD. I have another car, beater 2002 Mazda Protoge5, so this car does not have to be a daily driver.

Its 11am here, I told him I would let him know by 12. He's going to have to come up $2710 on my trade for me to make the deal. Basically giving me $12710 for my ZHP, pay-off is $16710. I'll carry $4k of negative equity over to the M3...

I have not yet discussed overage in my deal. I shouldn't have any with me having my 2nd car.

Congrats on getting yours! How did you do with the ZHP? Trade? If so, what did you get for it?

I'm 1/2 tempted to buy the M3 and HOPE that I can sell the ZHP on my own. In these economic times though, I dunno if thats a good idea. If he can't come up on the trade to $12710, I'll probably buy without trade and put the ZHP on ebay...

How does "Rolling" $4k of existing negative equity into a new car that will depreciate $10-12k in the first year get rid of your negative equity "for GOOD"?

Your dealer's comments on 5% holdback don't make any sense nor does his statement of "no point selling for a loss". There are soo many errors in their logic it is hard to know where to start....find a new dealer that knows how to do business, or better yet (and I know you don't want to hear this), stop buying cars you cannot afford that leave you with "negative equity" , sell your current BMW and drive the mazda until you can really afford to buy another car...

How about I choose how to spend my money? Are you kin to Dave Ramsey? I've done the DR thing mostly, the only debt I have is my car. The Mazda is paid for, I have two credit cards with $0 balances (about to cancel one), 3 months of Salary in a "liquid" form and my rent is SO cheap.

When the 36 month lease is up, I will receive my 3 security deposits back (if there are no additional charges) and I can walk away. I will not owe $4,000 more, like I would now if I "walked away" from the car...

What is so hard to understand about that?

I was letting gundamz know that the dealership will still make money if they sell the car to him at Invoice. Or even below. How does that not make sense either?

This dealer has been 100% up front with me on everything, he also told me in that first phone conversation that he would NOT mark up the MF .00004, which they are allowed to do. He also would not jack the acquisition fee up like they are allowed too.

But I should walk away because "he doesn't know how to do business?"

Now I'm confused...

As I understand it, the "hold back" is back end CSi money IF the dealership meets their customer satisfaction levels. The 5% is off the BASE MSRP, not the MSRP with all options. For an 08 M3 coupe, that figure is a bit under $2900.

^ thank you for the clarification. He brought it up, I had (briefly) read about it online, but didn't pay it much attention as most dealers will get very aggravated if you bring the subject up. I used to work F&I at a Kawasaki/Suzuki dealership and a customer bringing up the topic of hold-back was a big red-flag...

I did not intend to discuss it with him, but it was one of the first things he talked about as he was explaining he COULD do $7,000 off MSRP, but it WOULD dip into his hold-back.
