dealer has to make money unless they really just want a car off the lot. $2k under invoice would be a good deal IMO until BMW starts giving trunk money (which I would guess will start happening in January- especially on the verts).

Imola.ZHP,

Just relaxed. You know how the world is. People always have things to say (good or bad!) I will call the dealer and ask about the MSD again. I am really thinking to wait till Jan and see if they are more motivated to get rid of the car. Good luck with yours and you just have to enjoy life sometimes.

^ I'm good...

I've got a refundable $1,000 holding the car, I cant go get it until Friday. So I have until then to make up my mind...

PS on my "dealer that doesn't know how to do business," no doc fee either. He came up $1,000 on my trade. I'm still going to run it by CarMax tomorrow and see if they'll give me more...

Sales Tax

FYI NC Sales Tax on cars is 3% and not 6.75%. Good luck with your purchase.

batmobl,

You are in Raleigh also. Did you get your car from Leith? I saw only one M3 so far in my area, it was near Brier Creek. Maybe we can meet up after they decide to sell me the car at lower price.

That's a sweet deal. Did you get this at Sterling? If so, who did you work with. I'm talking with them about a 6MT sedan they've got and the price hasn't gotten this low.

Wow, 700's for an M is outstanding. Im still holding out, but the econmoy is surely forcing the dealers hands. Better to lose a little for the sake of keeping the ball rolling.

I am going to pick up a 2008 E93 M3 tomorrow.

I am still debating about 10k or 12k a year but will go for the 3-year lease since BMWFS raised the 3-year residual by 2%.

By the way, my selling price is $500 over invoice. I am okay with that price since the car has DCT (a must since my wife will be driving it as well), and there is just not that many 2008 E93 with DCT left.

This one I am picking up has the color (SSII) and the options I want (except satellite radio - which I don't want).

I thought about waiting till January for more discount, but don't want to take the risk there may not be any DCT left.

Thanks. I talked with Franz over the weekend. Didn't know your name at the time, but he said he just sold 2 over the past week. He's offering a sweet deal. I just gotta figure out how to sell my 335 quick because the trade-in blows.

It's funny how Shelly BMW and Irvine BMW can really wheel and deal. Some person in here, which I don't want to mention name thought he was "it". Well he isn't. I am sticking with Shelly.
BTW Shelly and Irvine BMW have the same owner.

Oh trust me, I've made plenty of financial mistakes in the past. I'm on the right path now.

I didn't end up getting that car. It was going to be a financial mistake, so thank goodness I realized that. My goal (this week, will probably change next week) is to get my ZHP paid off by the end of the year. Hopefully I can score a killer deal on an `09 at the end of `09. I'm keeping all of the deal information so I can compare. If I trade something in, it will be the Mazda, but I'll most likely sell it out-right.

yeah ZHP is really an awesome car. That car still surprises me. I am keeping it, and not selling it. After I am done with nursing school, I will make my judgement whether to buy an E90 or E92 M3. But for now, ZHP is still a vengeance on the street.

Where ever you buy from, DON'T GO TO SHELLY BMW. They SUCK ASS. No loaner when you bring the car in and they still want "all 5's." Most dealer say they use the money they get for the "5" rating on the loaners. They didn't even give a full tank of gas when I got the car there. Just STAY AWAY.
