Ohlins Road and Track. I'm thinking about it.
My car is pretty much stock with the exception of my modded headlights and OEM exhaust mod. I've been debating lowering my car over the past years of ownership, but just never got around to doing it. I've managed to set aside some cash I can dedicate to my car. My question is Ohlins seems to be the gold standard when it comes to coils, but is the Road and Track really worth the cost?
I was also thinking I could go with something like a full Dinan suspension setup and still have some cash to put towards other mods. What are your thoughts? Your input is greatly appreciated. |

I have a clean set I took off my car that I'll need to sell at some point (went back to OEM EDC). If you might be interested in a used set with a little over 40k on them, feel free to PM me. They still felt good when I removed them.

Ohlins R/T recommended height is same as M3 ZCP so it's quite practical. I only scrape my Vorsteiner lip on the steepest inclines.
Ohlins R/T is perfect for daily driving and hill runs. I run 12/12 for daily use and it's comfortable with better body control than stock. For hill runs I use 8/8 and it's firm but still soaks up the bumpy stuff. I use 4/4 for track but it's quite obvious the Ohlins R/T is slightly undersprung for pure track use. If your car spends a lot of time in track, you'll probably be better off with something more aggressive like KW Clubsport. Hope this helps. |

For the money, I think you'd have more fun buying the new used set of ST XTA coilovers (currently in the member's classified section), solid subframe bushings, AA green filter, test pipes, GTS tune if you're DCT, and Michelin PS4s tires.
No to Dinan anything. Unless it's the 4.6L stroker attained for a reasonable price Last edited by JsL; 07-01-2018 at 11:35 AM.. |

I gave you the wrong part numbers to buy in your thread. Jk
Write a review when you get them installed, not a lot of information on those coilovers. And I think they deserve to be more known. I was considering them myself, but I just picked up a set of Ohlins. For anyone looking into the XTAs, PM the Vendors here as they have very competitive pricing for the kit. If you're paying MSRP, you're paying too much. |

What spring rates do people run with the R/T's who intend to track a few times a year?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

There are 4 employees here running Ohlins R&T on our daily drivers. I can't speak high enough about them for a car that sees daily or weekend warrior duty. As mentioned before, the R&T are capable on the track but there are better options out there for a dedicated track car.

I'm also in the same situation as OP. Right now i have the h&r race springs with a front swaybar and honestly the car corners good(on even surfaces). I either want to step up to the ohlins r&t or get kw v3 coilovers. Any input is helpful |

USA gives about 12% off, that is a hefty chunk of change!

Not a bad price for a new set.
