iOS 9 & iOS 10 - via USB cable and Bluetooth issues
Hi all,
One of my major complaints right now is audio streaming via USB and Bluetooth. I prefer using USB as the sound is much cleaner and crisper. Not sure if I have problems with my idrive or if this is normal. I currently have a 2013 M3 w/ Premium Audio and BMW Apps. I've noticed the following issues when trying to play music. 1. USB Audio disconnects randomly while playing music 2. Album Art/Song Info remains stuck on the 1st track played 3. scrolling through tracks at a fast face causes the iDrive to lose it's mind 4. With iOS 10 I've noticed that after 5-6 songs, the audio gets very scratchy. Not sure if this is a DAC issue. IMO, it seems like the vehicle's USB bus can't keep up with the required data throughput the phone is putting out. Has anyone else noticed similar issues? Is there a firmware update. I believe the latest software I'm running is back from Early 2015/late 2014. Is there a dealership update to this system? thanks in advance, Chris

I've never had this problem with my iPhone or old iPod Nano that I leave in the glovebox.
I would try reflashing the software from BMW.com/update. Are your other modules up to date, too? What version does it show in the iDrive menus?
