The Glorified Intake Sound

So people have been skeptical about how the intake sounds, stock vs drop in vs stage 2 vs stage 2 full replacement.

Here's a video comparison of my aFe Stage II drop in using stock box, and the aFe Stage II Full replacement. It sounds amazing

The AFE full replacement is the worst because the surface area of the filter is smaller than the stock size or a drop-in which gives it a more muffled sound IMO

Both sound good. Full stage II sounds louder, a bit more growl but less refined.

^the stock box does not sound any way better than the aFe full replacement.

I love how members base their information from previous "post" they read.

and at the alabama guy, this is NYC, theres no really "opening it up" much. I was on the palisades filiming this, DCT at 6/7 gear.

Opening up sounds are bullS, everything sounds great at WOT, its when you're at low RPMs and still get that intake sound is what matters.

Agree. If you're opening it up in 6th or 7th you have to be going 150+. And not all cars sound great at WOT, our stock boxes sound pretty damn good.
