I have a GT2 ordered, due to arrive Wednesday and will probably go on either Thursday or Friday. I'm already thinking of getting an x-pipe. Throwing on test pipes changes the high rpm tone a bit and makes it slightly raspy.
Anybody have any ideas of what x-pipe would keep the tone without rasp and just increase the volume? I'm leaning towards a HFC and resonator set up.

Edit: What if I just remove the secondary cats from the stock pipe?

Quad resonated xpipe or an increase in xpipe diameter size might keep the rasp down some. I had the gt and got rid if it as soon as I put it on cause it was way to loud and raspy with my xpipe and single resonator

ESS cat/resonated xpipe would probably help, there is a used one for sale in the classifieds.

I have the GT2 titanium and ran the AA X-pipe with high flow cats (also has 2 resonators) and it was crazy stupid loud, unbearable for the street. You could try quad resonators with 0 cats. If you do decide to go that route post a followup video.

Im running a meisterschaft gt2 + section 2 titanium pipes ( from meisterschaft ) and akrapovic hfc's . The setup is good if your in the mood for "LOUD" but for a daily driver i wouldnt recommend it as its way to loud .

I ran that exact setup and sold the X-pipe 3 days later... It was beyond stupid loud and the sound was entirely awful. The GT2 is a 7-8 on scale of 1-10 (10 being loudest) for currently available E9X M3 exhausts by itself on stock cats. The X-pipe turned it up to a 20 when you got on it.

This is exactly what it sounded like and it was the loudest exhaust I've ever heard.

I wouldn't recommend it whatsoever.

Damn. That's crazy loud, when you said you had AA I thought you meant the race version. It's weird that it gets so loud when it does get like that with just test pipe. My problem with that is I heard it's a bit rasp on the top end.

This is what I said earlier - I have the GT2 titanium and ran the AA X-pipe with high flow cats (also has 2 resonators).

It's crazy raspy, which is NOT what the GT2 sounds like at all on stock cats. I am curious to hear the stainless steel version as opposed to my titanium.

Yea I'd rather not have a volume increase and keep the regular tone. That's the whole reason I got it lol.

I wonder how the ARH system with HFC and Res would work out.

Same experience here but with GT2

I almost feel like if you have that muffler you should just keep your oem x pipe

I ran the GT2 with the bimmer world resonated Xpipe. Then after people Meisterschaft rear sections heard, they followed lol.
I never got the headers but maybe I will for the next M3.

Do you think it was raspy? I have the GT2 with a quad resonated and I think it is raspy.

Mine didn't seem raspy I think, it's been a while since I heard it last. sounded very race car though.
