Bit of exercise....

...with a proper engine detail prior a party day is always healthy. Obviously including bonnet inside waxed.

Noo, I'm not OCD, I'm not!

Did you refinish the original valve covers, or are those new parts?

Original covers. They are like brand after 40k miles. They where (obviously!) nice when I bough car with 12k, and since kept them by regular detailing. Very easy 15min job every couple of month though. Believer in keeping things clean incl the cover coating, so far so good.

Cheers

I've wondered about applying something to the plenum and other plastics under the hood such as Adams VRB to give them a little shine but not overly done. Do others apply anything?

Ridicilous easy process really. Every couple of month I spray a tad degreaser and then water pressure, no brushing or cleaning really (and you can obviously find cleaner bays than mine looking close up). I daily the car but short distances so not too dirty.

M43; usually go with Aerospace 303, gives a nice matt and dust repelling surface. This time pulled out my Meguiars engine dressing bottle, I whipe some of it off to not be too shiny. Its nice but a bit sticky for my taste.

Cheers

Not to tease you mate but here's a couple of pic's for your ref. Again all I've done is to keep dirt away really. You'll notice the un coated area that tends to get corrosion, here I believe "lubricate" it a tad with engine dressing now and then helps.

Good luck!

Thanks! well it makes me feel better to see that you have the yellow gunk stuff in there also... must not be a big issue. Do you have a later model 2011+? maybe the paint was fixed in the later years

Yep 2011, Januari build. No gunk really its only collored surface by years of oil.

Hahaha, got me mate! Like I said, the bay isn't crazy clean in any way although it comes out nice and shiny on pics. The lazy wipe down here only shows that I'm afraid...
