Amazing photo. Lip looks sick. I'd be too scared to break that thing off on my car, given the low ride height and it being my DD.

It's not a problem, the aluminum plate is bolted to the frame and already takes a serious beating without an issue.

MFEST VIII bound. Come see this car at Bimmerfest 2014 at the Pasadena Rose Bowl at the IND Distribution booth sporting RKP Germany parts and a full bespoke in-house designed & built suspension system. The fastest naturally aspirated Road going E9x M3 built to date.

I saw the skid plate the guy did on the green M3 but his looked like it was just riveted to the splitter. Is yours attached to the frame like the OEM GTS splitter? That would make more sense why it would be able to take a beating of any kind and still look decent. That skid plate idea was brilliant

I'd like to see photos of the under pinnings...e.g. skid plate. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the GT4 splitter and plate are attached to the car via the frame with breakaway mounts and magnesium hardware. On the Melbourne red car, a thicker grade aluminum was used to utilize chassis mounting. The splitter on the bottom also uses aerodynamic "winglets" to diverge air where I need it to go and to "clean" up the air flow on the bottom of the front end.

JEllis' skid plate is fully functional. His riveted version will still do the job at saving that GT4 lip. In fact, I prefer that he riveted the skid plate on as it offers protection for the lip. If he used fasteners, he would have a greater chance of destroying the GT4 because if the metal plate catches which its not frame mounted, it will split the lip open. He did a great job at making his and looks great.

Here are some preview shots of the massive build that took place on the E92 M3. A full photoshoot, video and write up of this vehicle will debut in July 2014! Stay tuned.

Brief overview:

Custom MRF Control Arms setup paired with Bimmerworld Trailing arm spherical bushings and spherical lower control arm bushings. MRF Engineering Sub-Frame Bushings custom designed for suspension geometry correction for lowered vehicle ride height. Delrin & Aluminum Differential bushings from Turner Motorsport. RDsport anti-roll bars. AP Racing Big Brake Kit. All hardware shot-peened and zinc plated for strength and corrosion resistance. Boxed OE BMW trailing arms, finalized with gloss black powder finish.

Track width has been increased 11mm per side, 22mm total track width increase and coupled with 295 wide rubber in the rear for optimal control, feedback and grip. Track width has been mechanically increased by control arm lengths and position, not by simply adding wider wheels.

Sub-frame itself has been reinforced with weld in gussets at its weakest points for strength and rigidity with reinforced 7/16th" threaded slots for MRF Engineering lower stiffening plate.

All rubbing bushings have been eliminated and is full spherical system. The only remaining soft element are the polyurethane anti-roll bar mounts.

Topped with the frame itself powder coated in BMW Motorsport blue.

Vehicle will also employ a 1 piece carbon fiber drive shaft shortly. This is currently being built and not pictured here.

Engine and transmission mounts are Group-N grade.

Absolutely, positively, insanely awesome! Well done Malek.

Malek's attention to detail with everything he touches should by obvious to anyone viewing this work. Nobody else touches my car.
