The rear I could NOT get to stay. Wish I read through these threads first...The center third is fine, but the two ends won't stay in (one side will go in all the way but slowly comes out, the other wont even go all the way in). They are on enough to just cover the edge of the glass so that'll be "good enough" until I get a new trim and try again.

This is what I will try. Lots of painters tape as seen in above photo.
Update: I redid the lower trim. Got a fresh part from the dealer. Spent a good hour with a razor to cut out all the excess goop from the factory rear window install. THIS WAS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!! Seriously cut as much out as you can.

Added some dots of sealant (in addition to the bead that comes on the trim already) and pressed into place and held pressure for 5-10 minutes. It's been two months and so far so good.

Agreed on this. I used this sealant and it’s been good for nearly 6 months.

Yep that's the stuff I used!

Cutting out the factory goop and using extra 3M sealant are they key.

I took so long with a razor. I wonder if one of those loop tools for pottery would work, although it's probably not sharp enough. Do you know the tool I am talking about? I think it's called a ribbon tool
