Exhaust alignemt

I cant seem to get the damn exhaust aligned for some reason. I bought the car and it had a uuc corsa exhaust severly missaligned and could never get it straight. Then decided to put the stock exhaust on and still same problem!

All hangers are new front to back.

Any tips would be appreciated!

For me I left the mid pipe clamps loose after securing the muffler connections, and played around with them to get the fitment dialed. My hangers are all oem.

Exactly as you said! Put in all hangers, seat couplings, wiggle the whole system into place and then tighten all clamps starting at header collectors all the way to rear. I used 1/2” x1”x10” flat cork in between my pipes and under bumper while securing couplings as insurance. Probably could fold a towel to get the same effect.

Guys above are probably right. In addition might be worth checking that the bumper is okay. Believe I remember there is some possibilities to adjust the quite flimsy plastic down there, believe I did this on mine years ago to get the clearance right (E90 though so slightly different).

the side hangers are probably worn or nor properly orientated, which is a thing in my book.

Side hangers are new. I will check orientation, how are they supposed to be?

Will also check bumper, loosen clamps and reinstall as you guys said tomorrow and update!

Thanks!!

can't recall, but if you mount them wrong it will offset the mufflers.

so you'll just have to take it off and on. i think the "hole" on the hanger should be pointed towards the rear of the car and not the front.

its not truly center so you will notice it.

Did everything you guys suggested.

This is the best i could get it, i can live with it till i get a new bumper.

I think the slight difference left is because the previous owner had too many diffusers on and the bumper is mangled and has too many screws on it!

Agreed. Looks as straight as my car does.

I have found that body panel alignments are not perfect on these cars in general.
