Brentuning or Turner Motorsport

Forgive me in advance if this has already been asked. I want to see which shop you guys trust your BMW with. I'd be looking for a go to shop for after market parts installation, tune, wheels, tires, maintenance, you name it. If theres other shops you recommend please let me know im all ears.
Thank you

Neither are very hard to install so any shop should be fine.

Recommended them recently in another thread on our New England forum, but I go with German Performance Services every time (Allston - Boston). Specialty BMW Porsche Mini shop, humble, love cars and are honest people most importantly, that don't overcharge.

So exhaust is finally in but I haven’t decided on a tuner yet. Brentuning is priced competitively. Turner on the other hand is on the high side. I was going to look into Eurotech and German performance services. Come Friday I’ll have a Remus axle back up for sale.

Who tuned it for you? Brentuning just got back to me and said my exhaust needs cats for them to tune. So now I need a tuner that will tune my car even with the catless exhaust.

Epic Tuning sold the tune. There is not much to custom tune on these cars that have full time WB02 with AFR targets and timing targets. Unless you have some very unique oddball assortment of parts, you don’t need a custom dyno tune. All the tuners have catless tunes, but it’s illegal to drive one in MA so Brentuning does not want to tune your catless car. Maybe if you brought it in with no license plate on a trailer and said it was a race car. Just buy a catless tune and flash it yourself. Beware you will have to swap x-pipes for inspection since no tuner will simulate your rear 02 because it is illegal, the feds have threatened tuners and the fine is hefty. You would have to personally know the tuner for him to take the risk.

I have a Epic tune on my E92. Bimmerworld long tubes/catted x pipe,Corsa. The Epic tune is spot on. Seems to be fine with the shit left coast 91 octane fuel we get out here as well. Really don't think you need a custom dyno tune.

Just to make sure it’s this one https://www.bimmerworld.com/Chips-Software/OBDII-Software-1996/Epic-ECU-Tune-BMW-E9X-M3.html correct? Also does this include the GTS DCT flash?

Yes, that is the Epic Race Tune I bought from Bimmerworld on sale last year or early this year for $750 or $800. An engine tune does not include a transmission tune, though tuners sell both. You can buy the trans tune from Bimmerworld or from Epic.

After you buy it, you will receive instructions and a cable and flasher to use with your computer. Randy will have you download your ECU data and send it to him. He will look it over and make any adjustments necessary. You should also tell him the fuel you run and what mods you have, since a 93 tune has minor changes from a 91 tune and a catless tune differs from a catted tune. If you don’t already have the latest factory software, he will give you the file to update to that first.

Im just waiting to hear back from BimmerWorld because the price of their Epic tunes stage 2 is $80 less from the price Epic Motorsports has theirs listed with the transmission tune. So Im just trying to clarify if its the same thing.

Bimmerworld sells the Epic Race Tune for $999. Epic sells the standard tune for $799 with an option to upgrade it to the Race Tune for an extra $200, for a total price of $999, just like Bimmerworld.

Epic lists a transmission tune for an extra $299, but Bimmerworld does not. Since the engine tune prices are the same and you also want a transmission tune, you should buy from Epic.

I bought from Bimmerworld because the Race Tune was 20 or 25% off at the time. I did not need a transmission tune because my car is 6MT.

You could source a DCT tune separately but would probably end up paying more in total than a package deal from one tuner.

I'm taking mine to Eurotech motorsports in Natick for RB change. I've heard good things about the shop, talking to the shop owner he seems pretty knowledgeable about our cars.

Plenty of good shops around Wile, Farley@Eurotech, etc.

You think this forum section is dead check out the non m3 NorthEast section. You think it would be full of idiots who just got a 335i. Crickets. I guess it's not bad, as the facebook scene can be horrendous.
