Guys it's insurance plain and simple. Some use it more than others that's the idea. I become a believer when my MDX required over 4k in suspension repairs the first year and 5,000 miles right after the factory warranty was up. Luckily I had an extended warranty.

My 135i had one turbo go bad at 59,000 miles. One turbo alone is a 2500 job. I wish I had an extended warranty on that.

You guys can doubt it. But The other turbo goes and that idea of self insuring wouldn't have worked.

Sent you a PM, sounds interesting I have been debating whether or not it sounds worth it. I have an 08 with 32k and the two year BMW plans don't seem worth it, but the six year one sounds promising (wouldn't mind driving this car into the ground )

Any input if DDE "reprogramming" due to fuel injector issue is covered under Gold Extended Warranty?

First its really 2/100 since the 6 years start from in service date. I was quoted $3380 for platinum coverage on an 09 650i in January (6/100k).

I just bought the second level coverage (everything except the navigation which I have never used. Google/smart phone is so much better anyway). I did the 5/100,000 miles because I will be mileage limited as I just hit year 2 and have 50k. Paid 4550 and to me its a great deal. No headache, no worries and just continue to drive it often and hard knowing I am covered. I will sell it at 100k and move on to the next bimmer under warranty or keep it as a dedicated track car

Original poster lives in Southwest Florida and only puts top down once a month??? I live in Southeast Florida and have the top down all the time.

I had a 2004 audi that had 33k miles, bought extended warranty from CarMax and had $17k in repairs over 15k miles and 1.5 years (covered all but $1,000).
