No, it doesn't. Poor decision making and driving skill does.

YES, yes it does. Really, why on earth would you suggest otherwise?

So does poor decision making.

But some things happen entirely out of our control, and the faster you're going the worse off it will be

Speed is also fine it's the coming to a stop too fast that is the issue.

there is a reason why there are speed limits on the road.
there are some streets its just not with it to drive at certain speeds
if you want to unleash your inner speed demon, go to the track

You can't be serious. How old are you? 18?

Moron driver made a poor choice and paid for it, while murdering three other people in the process. Put a professional driver in the same situation and the likelihood of crashing is drastically reduced. I can do 120mph down an empty highway in an M5 all day long. Will speed automatically kill me?

I think what he is getting at is driving past your limits. Many people are unaware of their and the car's ability to handle situations. Speed certainly enhances the severity of a crash and the likelihood of one if you are not a skilled driver. Many people purchase super cars and think that they are now a race car driver just because they have now arrived. A lack of understanding of vehicle dynamics, stupidity, and speed were all factors as to what happened I'm sure. People have to know their own abilities and not push it past that just because you have a fast car. Just my two cents...
