I really want either a Sinn or an IWC as my next piece, but email me some pics and details, I'm always open to find a deal! If it's a PVD with red or orange numbers I'll consider it.

pan...it holds the resale value. My friend makes money by selling and buying this watch! Once you have made money then you can buy the BBK.

I bought a gold Rolex in 1989, it costs 3 times as much to buy today. A BBK is gone when you sell the car! the watch lives on to fight another day!

PS. It comes down to disposable income?

But... THIS IS RIDICULOUS! It may be a high end collectors piece, it may hold its value, it may get the job done in a more mechanically elaborate and internally beautiful way, and it may be a status symbol (if you're a douche bag). If you're in to the first three then great! It's not a socialist country yet, do what you like!

But don't say its any more functional than my iphone at telling time, AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T SAY IT SUGGESTS YOU HAVE CHARACTER OR CLASS!!!!! Hitler probably wore an overly expensive rare watch...

Live your life in a way that gets you compliments. There are literally an infinite number of things you could do with that $1,10,100k that would "show character and class" buying this watch does not.
C'mon man, you're entitled to your opinion, but you just went overboard.

No matter what you say, people with class DO notice good watches... It's a fact. A good watch may get you a friend in rare places, an unexpected favor, a discount on a future watch (heh), and countless approving glances from people who may never even choose to comment.

You can wear a Timex, and if you keep it clean and it's unique, then you'll get my nod of approval. It doesn't have to be a $5k+ watch, as to each his own -- but there are many benefits to fine timepieces that you may never realize due to your ignorance (no harshness intended).

This was my first nice watch, I still wear it all the time and I can even go through metal detectors with it (It's full titanium). I get compliments ALL the time, but the reason I love to wear it is because of it's functionality.

I love watches, and I love this thread.

You continuing to read it is, of course, optional.

As long as it stays civil, I see nothing wrong with it. People are ignoring the infantile flames like "buy the watch if you pee sitting down, etc." A higher post count in general is good for the site.

Safari ROO is a classic. ONLY downside, and it's minor, is zero lume. Not much use at night, movie theater etc. My LE Montuak Highway has no lume either but it's a summer, daytime watch only. Of course, ROOs like the Safari etc are $20K plus watches and compete with mods like the Vorsteiner body kits more than a set of brakes.

My buddy's collection
This is the Panerai 203 Angelus 8 days. 47mm 1950 modern Panerai case and houses the original Angelus SF 240 movement that Panerai used in the 40's. To me, this is the grail Panerai next to the vintage 6152/1 model.

Love that titanium Destro, but that 1950 sure is a Grail.
