Seems as though most people (me included) went with the Tecnocraft becuase it is somewhat cheaper than the Dinan, in particualr for a piece that isn't exactly proven to add much HP.

Alex, if I were you I would look into a Pulley and ECU tune in lieu of the charge pipe which really doesn't ad dmuch regardless of Tecnocraft or Dinan.

And both the Dinan and Tecnocraft should be good with a BMC or Macht Schnell filter. I have a Macht Schnell filter in mine.

Yes you can use any filter with the Dinan if you choose to. You do have to use the stock inner filter coupling. You could even continue to use the stock filter, although I don't know why you would. I don't know what issues anyone might have had with the Technocraft (I haven't heard any), but I have had none with my Dinan intake.

Did you use another filter or the one that came with the Dinan intake? What is your opinion of matching it with a BMC or MS filter? I'm assuming that Dinan developed their intake to be matched with their filter, but you know what they say about assumptions.

Dinan intake filter is not the same size as OEM ones but if you keep stock intake filter housing/holder to Dinan elbow C/F pipe, you can use any filter you like.

Dinan fitment is perfect and I'm happy that I didn't go with Technocraft.

But at the end, you have to consider this (Dinan intake) as more cosmetic mod than performance mod as any 100 dollars aftermarket filter can give you pretty much same result. So rest of 800 dollars you're spending for Dinan is more for cosmetic reason, not really for function (if there is any gain from C/F elbow pipe, it's not gonna be noticeable).

Right. I understand what you're saying. I'm wondering about maximizing the amount of HP coming out of this cosmetic mod. The Dinan coupling is bigger so will using the stock one(smaller) be more restrictive?
