Personally, I've been enjoying the kit since I installed it and have not needed them for any sort of service. The kit itself is top-notch. Since I don't have to deal with them going forward, their service doesn't really matter to me.

Like what? Replacement items like belts, fluids, injectors, and air filters are easy to buy elsewhere and the kit itself is very basic (550 non-intercooled). I can't think of anything I would need ESS for.

With that said, I did email them some questions a while back and got satisfactory responses. Maybe not the amazing service they were known for years ago, but adequate for my needs at the time.

My experiences are mine, and mine alone.

Any company who maintains legal counsel on retainer and threatens SLAPP lawsuits against anyone who posts negative feedback - I'd avoid that company for any future dealings.

I'm still waiting on a responses from over a week ago. Simple question.

They gave me the wrong part number info on my bypass valve , wouldn't assist on info with rebuild . Tried to sell me a completely new one ..... Costed me hundreds in time and error , I still wasn't upset .

Returning a simple question or email was the straw that broke the camels back. The kit is a nicely designed system, nothing wrong there . The problem is attitude/service and that can't be fixed or taught.

In hindsight i wished I bought an AA stage 3 system or harrop. My 625 system is for sale.

i have a prediction that they are not interested in answering questions or servicing parts for used kits...which is sad but their decision.

i've not heard anyone that has bought a kit have bad service or warranty issues.

If it were me I wouldn't turn down a potential sale of replace parts and upgrades.

While I fully understand any company not providing support for a used parts - selling a tune for that same used part, and then not providing service for said tune isn't quality service.

Don't take my $$ and then state we can't help you...

Besides - I have a 335d making 490 whp and 680 wtq now...so

Bought mine brand new and I've never had an issue. I've requested probably 10 different tunes and they've delivered within 24 hours.

What have you had to change in the tune 10 different times?

Changed throttle sensitivity mixed with the following: cold start cycle, octane differences, emissions testing, stock tune.

Each one is obviously slightly varied, but they were quite prompt with any request that I made.

both my na and supercharged tunes were emailed within 8 hours, arriving 10pm my time.

buying replacement parts was tough but completed. doing it again I'd probably go with an air to air intercooler but the power on the ESS kits is fantastic.

I also went through various ESS tunes on the Z4MC track car (525 VT2 kit) and the E46M I have tuned with them.

The iterations were never due to faulty software. I changed octanes, changed rev limiter, added a valet tune, etc. Each time I got prompt replies. Years after the VT2 kit was purchased they continue to respond quickly to any question I may have. We just made the Z4MC fully catless and I asked about a tune for that, I got an answer the same day.

Years later, due to an issue that has nothing to do with ESS, I used a tuner for my E92 M which is very loved in M3 boards. It took a *month* for them to deliver the tune. One. Month.
It has taken a year and many dozens of emails to get to what I requested and the tuner agreed to prior to purchasing the tune.

I also agree with someone who said they would support used kits, because that would seem like a sound business decision.

Hindsight is indeed 20/20, and years later I think exactly the same as I thought before: ESS is the only company that will supercharge cars I own or manage

Are you by anyway affiliated with ESS or receiving free parts or discounts per some agreement? LOL. Just busting chops here. I admire the assistance you've provided members (bearing related thread stuff...).

If I were affiliated with them I wouldn't have paid someone else to tune the E92.

ESS if you're reading this I really want a free supercharger!! Lol

No doubt the ESS kits are awesome, I have no complaint there . I too feel that there is a lack of interest in servicing "used" kits , but I don't understand why? When I installed my kit I was happier then imaginable .. I would have advocated my setup to anyone interested in supercharging their car . Outside of profiting from parts and service on used kits, it's nice to keep clients happy as they go through extensive time money and labour to drive around with ESS stamped on their motors.

If ESS is reading this .. I'd just like a response to my email. But you can send me a free bypass valve with SYT supercharger !!! ; ) lol

I am assuming they are concerned with liability of used kits of unknown origin and condition.
Probably the same reason they don't custom tune stuff either. While forum members are all happy that tuner X makes 'custom' tunes, ESS has their tune with thousands of superchargers sold and the vast majority of the records.

ESS needs to respond to this thread. Shortly after Roman left service went downhill quickly. They will regret their actions in the future. Anyone who owns their kit that needs something, your better off going though an authorized dealer like ACM or EAS. Most parts can be bought elsewhere. My buddy recently bought a used kit and we needed one of the spacers on the blower bracket. Took multiple phone calls and they finally tell us we need to buy the entire bracket for $800. I said are u f$@@& kidding me. I put them on the map 3 years ago holding the world record in the 1/4 me. Referred countless of buyers to them and this is how you treat existing customers. I'm loyal to their product but ESS service is horrible!
