I had v1 mpe with stock mid-pipes & it was ok- safe exhaust--(old manish). I traded up mpe for some cash and mxp (mackin) mevius axle back- it's a lot louder with stock mid pipes.. it does have a drone sound at up to 2100 depending on where one is on the Throttle.. I have the challenge race mid pipe. So will see how loud it gets. The exhaust on this car is tough to decide on.

The s65 engine drones at 1900RPM - 2100RPM and again at 2900RPM - 3100RPM. If you are dct, 2900RPM - 3100RPM equals to 76MPH to about 80MPH.

I've owned:

Dinan - Very slight drone at 2900RPM - 3100RPM (unnoticeable to most)
Corsa (currently on my car) - Very slight drone at 2900RPM - 3100RPM (unnoticeable to most)
Active Autoworks - Drones only at 1900RPM - 2100RPM
Remus Race - Drones at both RPM
Akrapovic - Slight drone/bass at 1900RPM - 2100RPM
OEM 4-pipe Mod - Very slight drone at 2900RPM - 3100RPM (unnoticeable to most)

They are all noticeable upgrades in sound paired with the stock x-pipe. The Dinan is in the lower/middle of the pack I've owned in terms of loudness; the Remus Race is the screamer of the group.
Sorry for bringing back up such an old thread, but have you had any experience with the Eisenmann Race and its loudness. Also the Evolve E-tronic exhaust?

I couldnt be happier with my AA gen 2. Drone is minimal and delivers a nice little bump in sound without being overly loud

I bought an Akra slip on over a year ago and I couldn't be happier with the system. It's very easy to install and has a nice deep growl, but not too much as I do have an E93. However, I picked up a Akra x-pipe since I've had to itch to do it and will put it on soon. It will likely make it a little louder but no too intrusive I believe. I get very little drone at the 2k range currently and the weight savings is a plus. I didn't go with Dinan because two of the outlets are dummy outlets on the muffler. Just seem like a waste to lose two outlets.

I had an Akra EVO system and now Evolve X-pipe with Akra cans.
Just heard an Evolve X-pipe and cans with valves... now I want the Evolve cans too, but it's deep and louder than the Akra, which is more high pitched. But open those valves in a parking garage, OMG!!

I have the Eisenmann Race exhaust with the mid pipe on my E93 and I love it.

Bought it off a forum member and believe it's loud, aggressive, little to no drone, and just overall great.

Plenty of youtube videos for reference.

MPE or Corsa. All other exhausts will drone you into insanity. Both also sound great with DP’s or mid pipes.

Exhaust sound is very subjective but I am happy that there is so much love for the Evolve X Pipe and the E-Tronic. :-)

I've been very tempted to get a Corsa. But the perk living in CA is smog test every 2 years, really don't want to go thru the cat-on/off cycle.

Sooooo.. How does Corsa stack up with stock X pipe? (I have 2 pipe OEM mod already, feeling not enough fun)
