I have the AA HFC xpipe paired with an OEM exhaust mod (2 pipe perforated method, not ACM). Here's how she sounds: http://scontent-yyz1-1.cdninstagram....41390384_n.mp4 No drone, but almost. Still quite loud though.

We have the Macht Schnell bypass pipes in stock. They eliminate the primary cat, while retaining stock o2 sensors and secondary cat. As others have stated any bypass or xpipes will eventually throw a CEL but can be eliminated with a simple tune. We have had nothing but good feedback on these. PM us if with any questions, or for pricing! |

I decided I'm going to go with the Macht Schnell x pipe and I already purchased a used Megan Racing rear I hope that doesn't cause too much Drone or rasp with this set up a little bit of that won't bother me too much. I have just the basic Dinan tune and it won't get me OBD2 ready so I'm looking at a active autowerke tune or a ESS tune have no clue out of the two which one I will get? I live in the Albuquerque New Mexico area so I don't have any tuner near me that I know of. I also have the Dinan Underside pulley and the Dinan DCT tune.

Also just a tip, the Macht Schnell/Borla/Challenge Race x-pipes usually sell very quickly so I would keep a sharp eye on the WTS Exhaust section if you're going the secondhand route - don't only rely on a WTB posting.

Thanks to all those who shared about their setups...
I'm very happy with my Corsa axle back but am wanting a little bit more aggressive sound and a few more ponies...but don't want to trade that for fumes... To anyone who has/had the ESS X-pipe, any noticeable fumes from OEM? To any sellers, any 4th of July special on ESS X-pipe and tune (hint, hint) |

I ended up going with the Macht Schnell X-Pipe with the Gintani exhaust and the ESS tune. It sounds amazing. It definitely seems easier to rev threw the power band. Car feels faster, and more throttle response. It seems effortless to get up to higher speeds. It now sounds like a exotic V8. I love it, but it dose drone a little around 1,800 to 2,300 rpm. I don't like drone and hoping that it will settle as the X-Pipe gets older. I will definitely live with a lil drone as the car sounds amazing, and the performance will hold me over until I'm ready for a Super Charger

Deleting all cats was the only choice I wanted for performance. HFC don't do it for me, and I don't smell anything unless standing behind the car. It's not my daily, so I'm thinking that I can live with a lil drone, especially with the performance gains deleting all 4 power robbing cats

Everyone loves a thread revival. So my question is besides bimmerworld x pipe is there any other x pipe out there thats "straight pipe". Im looking for no cats or resonators. Everything I have found has at least resonators in it.

Between the price, the forward placed X and the lack of resonators, I'd say the bimmerworld is just what you're looking for.

RPI sells a version with 1 tiny resonator on each side and a version with no resonators. I had the one with tiny resonators paired with the RPI mufflers and I was measuring 104dB at 50ft (aka still loud af).

Yeah price wise its perfect. Other ones I considered were the armytrix, IPE, and Gintani but for the price I might as well complete the whole system. Im hoping the bimmerworld will hook up to my Valvetronic.

Wanted to chime in here. Just replaced my Topspeed x pipe with the bimmerworld one and I'm thinking of going back to the topspeed. The amount of metallic rasp and rattle that the bimmerworld added is bordering on embarrassing. It is so bad in fact that I put the car back on the lift to check for exhaust leaks, I loosened the slip joints and hammered them in with a rubber mallet then retightened them to hell. It got a bit better, but still, lots of metallic rasp around 3000rpm. The Topspeed had no rasp whatsoever. FYI I have a Dinan exhaust.
I think Bimmerworld may flow better, but I feel I may have lost a bit of low-end torque... as of right now I'm not particularly happy with my purchase. Not going to butcher the pipe so it may have to go up for sale sooner than later. Last edited by MShift; 08-01-2020 at 10:25 PM.. |

Interesting. I have an early one piece Top Speed x-pipe to which I added 4 resonators. I bought the same magnaflo X that Bimmerworld’s shop uses and plan to redo my TS with it to move the X forward (and eliminate the existing rear X).

The top speed has no low rpm rasp in my experience, up top it just screams. The bimmerworld cleaned up the high rpm sound a bit (it may be louder even than the topspeed actually), but introduced rasp that sounds like something is almost rattling at low rpm.
