Dinan Releases M3 Software

Take a look for more details

PERFORMANCE ENGINE SOFTWARE
Dinan Engine E9x M3 Software raises the factory rev-limit from 8300 to 8600 RPM*, endowing the V8 with a broader power band and greater road speed potential in each gear. The software also removes the top speed governor, enabling the cars to attain their ''natural'' top speed; and the V8 will pull right to red-line in top gear! Changes to the throttle mapping help soften throttle tip-in for a sportier feel and improved modulation capabilities. The combination of Dinan's re-calibration of ignition timing, fuel delivery, and cam timing produce a maximum gain of 9 hp @ 6000 rpm and 8 lb-ft @ 6000 RPM. Peak horsepower is increased from 414 to 421 at 7900 RPM. The E9x M3 software is available on the mid May 2009 Rev-limit raised from 8300 to 8600 rpm in manual mode only for cars equipped the M Double Clutch Transmission.

Dinan software is not available for purchase on-line as it must be downloaded by an Authorized Dinan Dealer using specialized equipment. Contact your local Dinan Authorized Dealer directly for the purchase and installation of Dinan software.

Part # D900-40M
Labor Hours 0.5
Price $799.00
Emission Status 50 State Emissions Legal
Maximum Horsepower Gain X @ 8X00 rpm
Maximum Torque Gain X lb-ft @ XXXX rpm

$800 FOR 9HP, I think NOT!!! Dinan is over rated and over priced.

So a bmw daler will actually do this? Wow, not bad. I know gains r very modest, but I like the fact that they r not overstating them. Price is very fair.

Dinan is very conservative in their claims.
Aren't other software gains around 10hp also?

PG got better results on the AA software, http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...17&postcount=5 but Dinan does have its place

Aside from PG has anyone else gotten a 28hp gain from software? I can't remember seeing that claim by anyone including AA. I bet Dinan tuned car claiming 9hp gain feels just as fast as an AA or similar tuned car claiming bigger gains.

Broadly agree with this. Or the alternative explanation is that other tuners are taking risks that Dinan is not willing to take somehow. The explanation can't be that Dinan can't figure out what other tuners have figured out.

Not all BMW dealers will do this. They have to be a Dinan dealer as well.

Seen two Powerchip before and after dynos that have shown ~20WHP gain, which is likely around 25HP at the fly gain...

I am sure I am going to go with the Dinan tune, they are always conservative and they do have their warranty.

This is true, only certain BMW dealers will cover this, they have to be a DINAN dealer.

Also many powerchip guys have added 20whp. problem free.

I'm with PG, a dyno would be nice. Sounds like a rip to me. I can get the same gains from an AA air filter haha, I know there's more involved than just HP but doesn't seem worth it.

How about we reserve judgement until we see some dyno's or get some feed back from someone who has it. You guys are complaining about $799 for approx. 10 horse when people are dropping from 2-4 g's on exhaust systems with less gains? Really?

I call BS on that one, I don't care who prints up a dyno graph and posts it no one gets 9 or more HP out of an aftermarket filter change in this car.

I had no problems last year with my 335 stuff.

I know that is was one of the things they were trying to improve.

I gained a good 27hp from a custom tune from a very good tuner. I couldnt be happier.

Not very impressive, even if they are conservative it would be stupid to be that conservative. Most ECU reflashes can get a respectable 20 hp more or less.
