My M3 dyno after some more mods.
I had my car dynoed today again at Gintani I was just interested in seeing where my power was before I install their full exhaust system and Get the car retuned Since I've been running pretty rich. Here are the results from last time.
The car was bone stock except for the Primary cat Delete. and Todays results The Current Mods are now: Rpi Scoops, Fully catless Stock exhaust, Powerchip Stage 1, RD Sport Pulley The car feels really good right now. I Will post my gains with the Gintani Exhaust and Some sort of Airfilter and when Powerchip retunes my car. I did 331whp FYI With just the Flash and Primary cat delete. So I picked up an Additional 20whp from just the RD Sport Pulleys and Secondary Cat delete. Last edited by Jonmartin; 03-13-2009 at 10:29 PM.. |

Only 315 rwhp with primary cat delete? Seems kinda low for a 414 bhp stock car...

Different dyno brands, different numbers, they are not absolute. Look at the DIFFERENCE in power, not the peak number. On a dynojet, that is probably high 380's. |

Those are some nice numbers jon ...Im gonna b re-dynoing my car as well. As of now it seems like my car has picked up at least 26whp more with just the Gintani full exhaust system. So im sure u should get some nice numbers after the exhaust install. FYI Im waiting for your car to b done so i can get the same tune they put on your car. I need the cat delete software and better fuel mixture. Let me know when your software gets done.

Is that Powerchip ECU a custom map or static?
I'm looking for a chip that can be custom mapped to take into account the high altitude here in Denver, along with my specific mods. The LA, Miami and New Jersey static ECU don't cut it here. Dave

The BMW ecu is pretty adaptable, it should adjust for you. |

I assume that the custom tune would be in their shop, at sea level. That's the biggest part of the problem. Yeah, right now the stock BMW ecu is probably the best option for those of us at altitude. Apparently it's had a lot more high altitude testing than any of the tuner shops are offering for now. Dave

Im never a big fan of canned tunes, especially if you want the most out of your tune. With that said, there are quite a few good ones out there. They usually play on the "safe" side of things. For the best tune, its ideal for you to get a custom tune where you live.

Cool. I know every M3 thats been on this dyno (afaik) has gotten basically the same numbers I got stock. Give or take a few. I've had a few runs where I got more too but I just used those as my base. Either way different dyno as RPI has a 2wd DD and Gintani is 4WD is that makes a difference I don't know. All I know is the car is beast so far. Also When I ran the numbers in the first post I had a CEL and still had the same rich running condition. I can't wait for the Custom tune after I get my exhaust!.

^+1 DynoDynamics read lower then mustang dyno's. My car is rated 291 hp and look @ my numbers in my signature. I was heartbroken hence the term heart breaker dyno. It's ok though, on a dynojet my numbers are more like 308 awp.

Ya your car is tuned to make 255 or stock? I dunno how powerful the new ones are. I did race a modded one though. His plate frame said 2.0 Liter V8 killer , Try me V8" That was a while ago when I only made 331whp.

Very nice, I was hoping to find stock Dyno Charts online somewhere.
I will post mine tomorrow so I could get it out of the trunk. Looks like your software is making some power. Theres like a 10 hp difference from mine which is similar to yours but no tune With all the mods in my signature on Dyno Dynamics I ran 337whp and am getting software made on my car this upcoming Saturday, so hopefully there will be a change in power. So stock on Dyno Dynamics must run terribly low numbers. Stock E46 M3's were running in the 270 range with headers and no cats |

BTW for anyone that is interested
I have software being made for this setup by LET motorsports and they will be producing a software flash based on the parameters of the mods on my car for all E9x cars with no cats and pulley and filter etc etc This will make power and of course get rid of CEL lights etc which is what people worry about. It will be made on DYNO and on street as well as use mustang dyno Another car is also being used for anyone with stock setup and just a flash and this will be an adaptive software tune, so if you choose to continue modifying your car, it will take advantage of these things like pulleys and midpipes etc I'll let you know how it feels this Saturday. Been a week now, and we should finish all the testing and tuning on both cars by then |

The RPI mids definitely made the power on my car, without them I would have run way lower numbers
these were hood closed runs on mine as well with your scoops and fan |
