iPhone 7 Compatability/ Audio quality

Hi all,

I have upgraded to an iPhone 7 and have experienced some issues with the audio in my 2011 E92 M3. Before the 7, I would just use an aux cable with no issues. Now that the aux port is removed from the phone, I have to use the aux cable with the lightning port dongle. The audio quality has suffered dramatically versus using an iPhone 6 or listening to satellite radio. Any suggestions?

Copy your music collection onto a USB and use that instead

Good thought, but unfortunately I use Spotify

This is what I use. Works beautifully on my iPhone 6 over Bluetooth. I tried plugging the aux straight in from my phone and couldn't really hear any quality difference vs this.

Oh my 11 the Bluetooth streaming works very well. You can also plug in as well

How do you Bluetooth stream music in an '11?

I don't know if the earlier 11's came with it. Check your build date. on my 2011.75 under media there is a Bluetooth option to pair your phone. I know the 11.5 has it also.

I'm confused, why don't you just use a USB-Lightning cable? There is a USB port in the center console.

Ok, so it isn't just me. Jeez it sounds like complete GARBAGE with the iphone 7. I get that we're technically putting out an amplified signal using the aux, but it wasn't that bad with my iphone 5 & 6.

Pic shows my USB with the cable , and it works perfect..Plug&Play , done..

Don't use the aux input, use a USB connection.

I'll give that a shot today. For some reason I think it was not recognizing my phone

It takes a few seconds for it to pop-up. I think if you have BT pairing enabled (for telephone functionality) it warns you that it will be disabled until you unplug the cable.
