Complete drive train swap question
I have a low mile 2006 330i e90 manual that was hit severely in the side. Super clean otherwise. I would like to swap everything over to a wagon preferably. I found a cheap e91 wagon but it’s an xit awd. Does anybody know if the hard points on the chassis are the same? I would plan on swapping everything. Engine, trans, subframe, suspension, brakes, etc. I was planning on just leaving the rear suspension in it. Gear ratio of the xi rear end should make it marginally quicker.

No, its not the same. Transmission braces are different between xDrive cars and RWD cars. Custom trans brace needs to be made. Unless you plan to swap in an M3 drivetrain or 335 drivetrain, it really isn't worth it. Take that factory E91 and do a few mods. You can do a 3 stage intake manifold, tune, and then do XHP xDelete software and you'll be in roughly the same place you were as if you swapped a 330i drivetrain into the car.
Better yet, swap in a 335xi drivetrain.
