BMW M3 e92 Rod Bearing Service
Hello Everyone,
I have a 2011 M3 as a daily driver, completely stock, bought it around 2 month ago with 70k miles. I am looking forward to replace my rod bearings as im getting worried from all of the threads with rod bearing problems, especially that i am going to have a supercharger kit from G-Power this summer and start taking the car on a track sometimes while keep it as a daily driver. So, i really would like to get your opinion on what bearings and connecting rod bolts should i use? The shop that i have around is only willing to work with original BMW parts but i heard some good things about BE Bearing as well as VAC Motorsports. Would you suggest replacing my rod bearings with original BMW part or go with BE Bearings or VAC Motorsports as well as ARP connecting rod bolts designed by BE Bearings? Should i even go on the track while the car is still stock with 70k miles on rod bearings? Thank you very much guys. |

We are a dealer for BE Bearings and have done many sets! We have had great results out of them! Personally I wouldnt install another set of OEM's and I also have never been a huge fan of WPC coating OEM ones. We have several sets of S65 bearings in stock if you wanted to make the trip to Nashville to have them installed!

Thank you very much for your replies. I am sorry to bother you again with this topic, however i did search a lot of topics on this forum regarding rod bearings and from my understanding, it does not really matter whether you go with BE or VAC, the result seems to be the same: you are solving the issue. Please correct me if i am wrong. My main point was to just make a final decision about which once should i use and at this moment i am leaning towards BE and i hope this is a good choice.

Not sure the issue is being solved. No one is quite sure what the issue is. I would probably buy BE were I buying today, though.

I'll add that VAC is a 'not reliable' company and may send you rod bearings for a lawn mower instead of your M3. There's a DIY in my signature if you want to see what the process entails |
