Judging by the Boxster and Boxster S, that car is going to look extremely similar to those renderings. If it does I will have no choice to at least go see about one. The Boxster renderings were spot on right before unveiling. That looks brilliant.

Very nice! I havent been following the 981, but I'm pretty sure it might be more fun than the M3. It certainly is a looker. The only thing that would stop me is the perception-factor. At least the M3 is somewhat stealth, compared to any Pcar.

The only issue is this thing is gonna be priced where the 997(911) used to be. Or damn near it.

Hit me up via PM when you get here! Love my M3, but that 981 is just plain sick. If I dare tell my wife I want one, she'll think I'm out of my effing mind

the new 911 went up around 6% in price i think the 981 cayman will fall in the 5%ish range so we are looking at $65k vs $62k for the last generation cayman. just my analysis.

It is rumored that the Cayman S will eventually lose the 3.2 liter flat 6 and get a twin turbo 4. Does anyone want that engine? Saw a prediction to see that engine in 2015.

I heard that as well but for now they will get slightly breathed on versions of the same offered in the Boxster and Boxster S. Current Boxster and Boxster S have 2.7 liter 265hp and 3.4 liter 315hp engines respectively. Current Cayman and Cayman S have 2.9 liter 265hp and 3.4 liter 320hp engines respectively. It should be noted the new 2.7 liter engine has less torque but same HP which is reached 500 rpm sooner than the outgoing 2.9 liter. I believe it's more fuel efficient as well.

That looks like a damn fine car. I can't wait until it comes out for sale but I don't think that will happen for another year. Still, looking at the pictures makes me excited enough.

I've never been a Cayman or Boxster fan. But after looking at pics of the new gen Boxster S, I must say I am completely sold on it. It looks fantastic and as per Chris Harris' vid, it's great to drive. So, I for one would most definitely look at the new Cayman when it arrives

a SLK won't handle the same as a Boxster... I haven't driven the new boxster, but even older 986s handle better IMO than SLK 55s. Not nearly as fast in a straight line though

I have driven the last gen Cayman S. It is brilliant in terms of handling. Ride is a bit choppy and it is not as quick as the M3. That is where the trade-offs are. I am not sure if the wheel base has been lengthened in the new Cayman, but is certainly is one hot looking ride.
