In my experience, the Germans all use soft windshield glass. Our Mercedes, BMW and Audi vehicles all faired the same way - way too easy to chip and abrade.

I think its actually a good thing. Water hits the hot exhaust, evaporates and not end up on the ground where your rear tires can run over.

As far as mine. Some of the vacuum hose had to be replaced. Idle control valve. Radio issue, comon of early 08. Eats tires, gas and oil. Bmw forgot to put a spare tire on it. We love taking the car on long trips, so spare tire is a must.

Hi everyone , new member here, just joined this weekend. this thread kinda got my attention since I am looking for a 2012 M3 and my concern is - how good / cooperative is BMW in fixing any problems that crop up. Its pretty much given that a new car might have problems initially that are usually (or should be considered) covered by warranty. IN y'all's experience, how good has BMW been in honoring these claims as well as how prompt they have been in fixing issues??

I live in Oklahoma, so not a lot of dealers around, closest one in Oklahoma is about 200 miles away, other than that it will be a trip to Texas. Thought this might be worhtwhile looking into......

2011- only major issue ive been having is my engine mount has been replaced 2 times...but probably due to abuse and excessive launch controls and too much wheel hop

so nothing actually serious haha

Well, I think I have a buyer for the vette, so it shouldn't be long now. Really excited. I'm gonna shop very slowly and look for a perfect deal. I'm in no hurry to buy a car. Heck, I'll go rent something until I find the M3 I want.

I have 12k miles on my '11.5 E92 M3 and I haven't had any mechanical issues whatsoever. On my '08 E90 M3, I had a failed EDC sensor that was promptly replaced and my steering wheel made an odd, intermittent noise while turning. Once the steering wheel issue was recreated at the dealership, it was promptly resolved.
