We recommend the Snow Performance Stage 2 system using the #5 nozzle set to 3PSI start and 7PSI full gain. Torqo or VP methanol is recommended |

I like the Aquamist more than the Snow, and I like systems that are load based rather than boost based. But if ESS has found something that works, it should be fine. After all, it designed and tested the kit. The #5 nozzle is small at only 375ml. I flow way more than that in my turbo E36M3 and my naturally aspirated E90M3.

don't think one is really quitter than the other but I will say I prefer the whistle of the g1 over the v3 cog sound. Need to hear that g1 on a 90mm pulley

Question for you, I’m buying the G1 system in a few months. I’m currently running the Proflex Commander to run full E85, its just a plug and play system, the product works great and never had an issue with it. The company just came out with a new Commander Pro for forced induction or 600cc/60lb/hr or larger injectors. Whats your take on running this with the supercharger and the 94mm pulley ?

With the 96.5mm pulley, you dont think the plug and play system would run properly. The system is from Advanced Fuel Dynamics

Not sure, we haven't used full E85 on supercharged applications.

It’s the fuel pump capacity that may be an issue. It might be ok in a 3rd gear run to redline, but should you one day decide to run 5th, the extra load could make it marginal and in the heat of the moment you might not be watching your AFR gauge if you have one and could melt the motor. There have been some posts about superchargers and the E85 kits you can search for.
You might also learn from older posts about how the pump was marginal on the VT3 kits that made around 700 rwhp (built motors) on pump gas. That might be 20% more power than you will make but E85 uses about 30% more fuel. Anyway, it’s no fun melting a motor. I melted the motor in my supercharged E36M3 (~425 rwhp and ~340 lbs rwtq) in 2009 racing a GTR. We were dead even to 155, when the AFR went lean and a piston ring land broke and part of the piston melted. I had experienced no problems in redline runs in the lower gears but had never run that close to redline in 5th. An S65 is a much more expensive motor to ruin. |

Have a handful of G1 kits on the road already, 2 more as of last week. Some more component shots of the supercharger unit.

Supporting mods like catless X-pipe and more octane, as well as overall engine health will make quite a difference.

Tradeoffs for street use ?
what are some of the tradeoffs using the ESS supercharger on a daily driver doing about 8k miles a year? increase fuel consumption? reliability? 93 min fuel rating? I'm curious to hear from people who have lived with ESS for a while.

I have had mine for some time. You will need to do more spark plug changes which you can search to see what the interval should be.
Belt changes and super charger oil change is indicative. I don't track gas mileage , this is a V8 that I drive hard. It is fun every single time. I see you have yours as a daily but that is not the case with me. |
