Like I said before this is far from an "argument" and would really be a stupid on if it was.. It's just a very popular thought & question amongst many M owners about preference... I happen to be very vocal about it simply because I'm one of very few people to have seen both cars / colors side by side with identical zcp configuration.. In addition to that I just don't think anything pearly or learning to pearl can be boldly aggressive and sporty.. Anyone in art who knows art and studies colors will tell you pearl tones are used for softness and to diffuse hard edges in the white spectrum..

So I believe BOTH are beautiful colors, but if you are ever fortunate enough To see them both side by side you will notice that the MW is more "bling" luxury while the AW is more sharp ice cold hard and edgy.. For example if you plan to put chrome wheels on the car get the MW.. but if you want to do all blacked out trouper, silver or red accents the AW which is a MORE PURE ABSENT OF COLOR is best..

Some of my friends are graphics artists and designers who also own BMWs and M3s and Since they know I wanted extensive flexibilty for mods they unanimously advised I do the more pure AW believing the MW will limit the range a bit..

But let's not get all heated here over what really is nothing but preference.. What I personally needed is not what everyone else needs.. Im in no way trying To convince anyone.. I'm just pationate about my AW choice, because of the flexibility it affords and what I plan to do with it..

Also a lot of people commenting on this have NEVER seen MW in person.. They simply assume it's like Brilliant White or think because it's "new" it's better.. Most have never seen them side by side...

I'm just a nobody with an ash0le (opinion) So just go ask the highly respected BMW graphic designer Jon Sibal for his thoughts on this..

EXACTLY my point.. as long as YOU are happy with it.. People don't understand there is NOTHING to debate here.. there is NO BETTER WHITE.. They are both hot..

Even though in the picture above side by side picture you can clearly clearly see my point about how the AW screams louder and is edgier, and for me that is what was important when deciding.. :-)

FWIW, after seeing AW and MW side-by-side at my dealership, I chose AW.

I'm glad that so many people are playing it "safe" and choosing the AW. Mind you these are the same people that before MW became an available option, would post thread after thread complaining about yet another AW car. They would say comments like, does anybody choose any color besides AW with fox red interior? Being a 335i owner in guess what color "AW" the alpine white looks egg shell yellow in certain lighting. The egg shell yellow, that it has is not attractive,9 out of 10 328i I see are "AW". I think everyone is losing sight of the fact that we are lucky to be able to drive these cars while others are losing everything in this global downturn. To sum it up, I was looking for something different and chose MW for the M3 that I have on order to replace the 335i.

I saw MW and AW at dealer when ordering my M3,
I ordered AW it look lot better, cause MW look darker and it look like dirty dusted white.

3 of my friends who also saw them side by side and strongly advised me to do AW would agree with that choice... Seeing them side by side makes a world of difference..

So I ordered my new 2011 M3 today. My question is about upkeep of the paint. Has anyone out there had any chips or nicks in their MW paint and tried to make subtle repairs using a chip repair kit and if so, how are the results. AW not being metallic would lead me to believe the repairs would be easier, but if anyone has experience... Please put your two cents in.
