Mother fucker just when I convince myself I found an F80 I wanted.
Only $5k less than the E90 EAG has right now in Silverstone... http://enthusiastauto.com/qsearch/?i...orm_display=51 Decisions if someone hasn't already scooped this.

As a NewYorker and E90 M3 Interlagos Blue/Fox Red Leather owner...This might be too good to pass up. IB is the prettiest color. There are so many customization options for an E9X M3 for mods.
Vacay in the Poconos... I own an F3x 335i like you and am not impressed with the N54/N55 turbo engines, even an S55 or the build quality on F-bodies. A S58 would have been nice, but BMW was too lazy...to implement it on F8X M cars. The only F8X I would buy is an individual color special edition...like Velvet Blue or San Marino Blue. Cheers |

I did find an Avus blue F80, but trying to extract details from the seller is currently slow so we'll see.

Hmm thats a great question. I haven't seen the car in person yet since I'm not local, will have to ask and look more closely.

Good catch! It's an Eisenmann system but not sure if it's the sport or the race. Will just take it and if it's not right for me sell it/trade it for a stock system.

Yes I am completely biased, but I would argue LMB is the best "blue" color

The price is higher than I wanted to pay but it's supply and demand. Hopefully once I see it in person the expectations match up, but I plan to daily the car so couldn't justify going the full EAG route.

Completely understand the trade offs, and I also had to pay more then I wanted but at the end of the day I am thrilled I pulled the trigger, and I believe you will be too.
Your car is rare find and is exactly what I wanted (IB/LMB with black interior, Competition pkg, 1 owner, low miles) but I could not afford to go that high in my budget for essentially a weekend car with some commute duties. I ended up having to expand my search outside of the Wash DC area to the East Coast and then finally the entire country to find ANY IB/LMB cars and then decide if I was going to get on a plane or not during a Pandemic My understanding is there are roughly 2x-3x more IB cars then LMB, but to your point they are very similar and I am certain I would have been happy with either one. As you can see, I feel very fortunate to have found my car, and I'm certain you will be extremely happy with yours Congrats again and please keep us posted Quote:

I had a chance to buy a similar one for $10K less but it clearly needed thousands of dollars in work. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ckage-6-speed/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2010-bmw-m3-25/ I plan on daily driving the car and enjoying it at the end of the day, so I wanted the comfort options and comp pack. At the end of the day I could've waited and maybe nit picked the guy down, but it's still $20k cheaper than the F80 I was going to go for instead which would've depreciated even faster. I found a 2011 comp pack on here in gray and that guy wound up getting $36k for the exact same mileage and similar maintenance history. So yeah I paid a premium for color but yolo. Another big concern is ultimately with Covid, it makes flying and buying a car a LOT harder. Finding the perfect spec car in Texas right now isn't really a valid option. There was a

akkando has a nice build thread on his IB M3 E90 to give you some ideas.
I have done almost every kind of mod and repair on an E90 M3, since I have 190k miles on my 2009 //M car. Nothing crazy like a supercharger...but lots of modest upgrades. Great select of vendors from around the world...to choose from. One thing to remember...E9X M3s are not daily drivers. It is a toy and you have to baby it. Compute your yearly mileage based on your commute. Keep it under 5k-7.5k miles a year...and you are good for 10 years plus. After 120k miles, everything starts breaking $$$$. Wait for Black Friday for the most expensive mods and repairs to get the best discounts. GetBMWParts (MD Dealer) and BMW Parts Pros (CA Dealer) have the best prices. Check FCP Euro (CT) for OE part substitution. ECS Tuning (OH) and Turner Motorsports (MA) are the same companies now...sometimes the have the best prices and/or availabilities. IND (IL) has some very cool/custom stuff. You also have to find an uber BMW Indie shop in NY/LI. I don't know of one, but I am in LA now. Kies Motorsports in NJ is an option...but you might literally have to stay in NJ while waiting for any major work that takes a few days. I think AutoCouture Motoring is highly respected. Get Carly wifi plug and app for coding and OBDII diagnostics. I think it uses a $60/year subscription price model now, but they support multiple car brands now. Try to find a shop that does Liqui Moly oil changes..that is close by. Every 5k miles or once a year. Also need to find a touchless laser car wash (Chevrons, etc.). PPF and ceramic coat that beautiful IB paint. Never take the car to a BMW dealer ever, except for ECU work. Yes Interlagos Blue and Lemans Blue are equally beautiful. I just like saying "Interlagos." BTW you can't get some of the BMW paint sticks anymore (IB - A30). Congrats...very excited for you. //M3 Mod addiction is coming and there is no cure. Cheers PS I was just in NYC for July 4th. No issues flying or with rental cars...and moving about. Mayor BigBird and Gov COVIDIOT-19 are another issue. Not much to do..no NYY/NYM baseball or movie theaters or Broadway Shows. Now you have to worry about Jaws, like in the late 1970s. |

I would PPF mine if it was new paint but there are enough chips it's not worth it on mine, I would need respray bumper and hood. Interlagos is more interesting going from a darker deep blue to a purple sometimes. It's a handsome color when darker and unique when the purple comes out. Lamans blue is a prettier blue but not as interesting as interlagos. I basically daily drive mine in the sense that I use it for whatever, there is too much wasted utility if the car doesn't get used for some day to say stuff, but I have two stupid M cars so at least I spread the miles out a bit. Home Depot today, more propane, and some new plants. Believe me I flogged that engine when I was in the driver seat there and back though. |
