Exclamation E93 M3 Damptronic Suspension Issue

Hello M3post Fam!

I have a 2008 E93 M3 with EDC. I decided to change out the stock EDC suspension with Bilstein B16 Damptronic Kit which is meant for cars with EDC. I had the kit installed by a reputable shop that I have used in the past many times. After installation of the Damptronic kit, the car is riding super stiff in the rear and it seems like the EDC is not working. Upon inspection, we noticed that the rear spring is super compressed while the car is on the ground and the rear shock has zero to no travel when you try to press up on the shock. I have tried reaching out to Bilstein but unfortunately haven't really received much help from them. I don't know if it is a shock issue, spring issue, and/or EDC issue. Has anyone else ran into any problems after installing a Damptronic kit on their M3, preferably a convertible M3? Any advice or help would be great appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you have any pics or videos of the springs on the rear?

Also if the EDC wire is disconnected it will default to full stiffness (but I believe it will also throw a fault code).

The EDC cables are plugged in and the car is not throwing any codes. I’ll be stopping by the shop later today. I’ll take some photos and videos of the rear so you can see how the spring is sitting.

E93's, as with most BMW verts, are quite a bit different in the rear and many kits of this type will not work properly with anything other than a coupe. Can't say for sure in this case but know that I could not fit coils on either my E36 vert M3 nor my E46 vert M3.

With this issue, I would start with the spring. Was it changed when you installed the new kit? Sorry, I'm not so familiar with this kit. Take a picture of the rear spring when the vehicle is on the ground and share it here. If the coils are touching, or close to touching at nominal ride height, you will be limiting the compression travel of the suspension and thus creating the firm ride character you describe.

If springs are fully compressed at rest sounds like they sent u the wrong springs.
