Roll cage in street car?

Is it a bad idea to put a roll cage in an e92?
Will it effect resale?
Is it more dangerous in the event of an accident?
Thanks

I would buy SFI padding for it so it is not dented by your head or your passenger’s head in a bad accident.

M4 GTS from the factory came with a roll cage. They added padding to the cage like so:

Harness bar/half-cage in the rear half of the car, fine.
Street driving a fully-caged near racecar is probably not a good/safe idea.

I was going to ask "why?"

But then I thought: "because racecar"

And then I thought: "no, not because racecar"

Any sort of modification will effect resale, so will a roll cage.

What exactly is the need for a cage? Do you track the car often and to those limits to need one?

My dad picked me up from the airport in his new jeep a few years ago, and being somewhat tall I was like "wtf is this death trap dad?!" Riding in the backseat is even worse.

Back seat is definitely the worse.

I guess if we throw plastic covers over the roll cages, somehow the safety ratings pass.
