What mods have you already purchased? What's planned?

I promised myself that I wouldn't go mod crazy with the M3. But with every BMW I've owned (not that many), the first thing I do is get rid of all the silver chrome and other oddities that bug me. I'm getting the BMW performance spoiler and mirror caps installed at VDC (My SA said he'd give them to me at invoice pricing), and here's what I've ordered already:

- M3 Embroidered Floor Mats
- Black Chrome Kidney Grills and Side Grills (from M Edition)
- Black Slimline License Plate Frame
- AW Painted Side Markers
- Gloss Black M3 Emblem

Next on the list is the following:

- BMW Performance Aluminum Pedals
- Wheel Spacers (Macht Schnell??)
- HID Angel Eyes and 6000k HID bulbs

Sometime next year I want to get a carbon fiber diffuser and exhaust. I don't think that's going too crazy right?

What mods do you have planned when you get your car?

that "to do" list isn't crazy at all IMO

What I have sitting in my garage already waiting to get installed:

Paint matched front bumper reflectors, side gills, and key hole cover (IND)
OEM M3 edition Satin Black Kidney Grills (Tischer)
Hawk HPS brake pads (Acuteperformance)

Mods TBS'd once I take delivery: RPI Scoops, BMC Filter, ESS flash (scoops and bmc from trinity autosport, ESS flash from RPI)

Mods TBD: AE's (HID, whatever Alex@alpine has planned, he mentioned on a thread something about a set-up between LED and HID, or LS3 LED AE's from bavx)

hopefully that's it...

just checked the 800#, my M3 is at port, next ship leaves 10/18, hope mine makes that one.....

Nice. Why are you swapping out the stock pads?

not planning on tracking or anything, honestly just wanted some brake dust friendly pads with close to OEM bite....

right now I've have axxis deluxe pads on my 535i and they work great (good stopping power and minimal dust), I've heard nothing but good reviews from fellow 5series.net members (I'm on there a lot) regarding hawk hps pads. Some also had previous experience with axxis pads as well. I was choosing between cool carbon and hawk...most reviews on here and e90posts regarding both brands usually have to do with tracking and not everyday use...I'm hoping they'll do the job for DD use...

The first thing I am going to do is install a new laser jammer. I actually need to order that now. Our cars will be here next week!!!

I spent the past two days completely getting my car ready to sell; detailing it, etc. It's on eBay now. Goodbye, Black M roadster, I will miss you! But not as much as that Interlagos Blue M3 that will be in my hands hopefully in 7 days

Shouldn't the dealer throw in M3 floormats? I will be asking for those if they are not with my car.

Some do. But I was reading about the M3 mats being on back order. I didn't want to risk it nor pay MSRP at the local dealership if they won't throw them in.

Smart move. I sold my car 3 months ago. It's been hell without a fun car to drive.

Aren't those jammers illegal in CA?

Purchased 20's BBS RS-GT, and Eibach Springs a month ago. Painted IND goodies coming in Monday. Still deciding on an exhaust.

After break-in period: Pulleys, Intake and MidPipes
Late next year: Supercharger

Hopefully I'm getting my car within a week. Cant wait!

I think speeding is illegal in CA too. The 'illegality' of it is the equivalent offense -- that is, you just get another ticket for it (no points).

My jammer on my MZ4 now has saved me from so many tickets it's ridiculous. It's almost once a week.

If a cop tries to clock you and there are no other cars around you, isn't it obvious you have a jammer? Or is there some sort of normal fail rate with their equipment?

Yes, they can sometimes figure it out. I have not been in California too long to really know for sure how often that happens. (I just moved here this year). As you get closer, though, eventually the jammer stops working. What I've read (and have done, if I can) is turn the jammer off once I slam on my brakes to a normal speed. Then the cop can clock you and you are good to go.

But also, it's not a bad or expensive ticket. They likely would rather just pull over the next guy who really is speeding, and get more $$.

Thanks for the info. Seems like a better solution than a radar detector. Do you know how much a ticket would be if you were caught with it?

http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...r-tickets.html

Looks like it's $99.00 but depends on what county in CA you are in.

I think as long as you turn off the jammer after you hear it go off, they won't bother with you.
