I purchased this car from a customer who had it painted...was originally Cosmos Black. It was fully disassembled and painted. I bought the car to flip but once I pulled the tint off, got the 'knight rider' style all black tail lamps fixed up and cleaned it up, it really grew on me. PY is a cool color but has always looked a little weird...kind of dates the older generation cars. We've see a few E46s and even had a couple MZ3s in my shop in PY....never been all that nice. This thing is a whole different story though. It looks outstanding. Believe it or not, the interior absolutely works on this car in person. Hard to believe but it's true...it looks really cool. Its not for everyone and I was a hater too when I first got it but I wouldn't have it any other way....I think it's because the red is on the dark side....blends right in.

I've got an Estoril Blue E39 M5(non factory paint) and this thing compliments it...nothing like having 2 very unique M cars. Certainly catches peoples attention.

I agree, I love PY and it jumps out at you like very few other colors do. Now the red inside....not sure yet but I'm sure that it looks stunning in the flesh.

when i took the first glance i was like " thats awful" and the more i looked at it, the more i like it.. looks kind of extreme.. like those orange and green lambos i see around town.. that would without a doubt turn everyones head. Nice car.

lol, how do you guys manage to see the dog it's barely sticking out..I guess I was too focused on the car. Agree the interior/exterior color combination does not really fit but I really like the color, and very unique for E9x M3!

As a former Phoenix Yellow M3 owner, I love it. For those of you that think your various shades of grey, silver, white or black are great I can only say that this is the only car that I have ever owned that never failed to get attention clean or dirty. For whatever reason- hate or love it - everyone always asked me from the day I bought it to when I sold it five years later, "what do you call that color?", or "what kind of car is it that?" and my favorite "I love that car, is it a custom paint job?".

Never once have I been asked anything about my IB E90 paint!

It's not for everyone, but it was one hell of a ride!

By the way, I never saw anyone really capture the green in the paint in any picture. Just curious if your respray has that green tint in low light conditions?

The green in the spray is definitely there....when I first got the car i had it in the shop under our lights(T5 HO) and it was as green as could be. I kind of like the green in there. Outside I have rarely seen the green....mostly gold.

Yo Ryan....good to hear from you. Any chance you're going to get those DINAN parts for your car still? I'm telling you, this car with their parts on it is unbelievable. One of the best cars I've driven period and I get to drive a lot of cars. Amazing....not sure if I can post up the shops address but there are some cool pics of my M3 on one of the gallery pages.

Unfortunately, you can't. Hence I edited your post. Thanks for understanding!

Feel free to post more pictures of the car in this thread, though!

Best regards,
south
