pics from my dinan 3.62 diff install and initial impressions

so i've had my 3.62 dinan diff for dct on for a couple days now and am very very impressed so far. IMHO, great bang for the buck. i haven't really got on it as much as i've wanted to because of rain and break-in, but the car feels completely different. acceleration comes a lot faster, the gear fly by. it's finally got a decent torque feeling! anyway, here are some pics from the install. big thanks to the guys at autoscope here in dallas, they did a great job at a great price. also installed at the same time were SS brake lines and 6000k HID's.

a lot of that 'rust' is just dirt and grime, but that's my next project. that's horrible exhaust, too loud. i'm going to put stock cans back on for now. might do cutouts, but haven't decided for sure.

edit: i see what you're talking about...that rod in the middle is just tacked on to prevent horizontal movement.

diff is $2699 and install runs 4.7 book hours. it all depends on the shop you get it from. i was able to get a deal on both the diff and the install, but i've been sworn to secrecy about releasing the price i paid.

like doba said, a few hundred rpm higher. it's significantly higher the faster you're going. example: i was at 5000rpm@110mph indicated, which we all know is lower than that in reality. i'm really curious to know what the top speed is with the diff, it's got to be significantly lower. i'll probably be selling the diff when i put a supercharger kit on if that's the case

they were able to do all the work by just lowering it off the stock mounts. the idiot that originally did that crap exhaust did a pretty piss poor job. but i'll be going to a really good exhaust guy tomorrow to remedy that.

i'm going to be going back to stock mufflers for now until i figure out what i want to do overall with it. i might do some cutouts with the stock mufflers intact that way i can have the best of both worlds, quiet and loud. i live in a nice neighborhood and my neighbors hate the loud exhaust (as do i) so i think this might be the most viable solution for now. we'll see, i'm just going to enjoy some peace and quiet for the time being.

Love the rust bucket exhaust; gives it that rustic flower watering can look.

I don't think you should do that ... I mean how often are you planing on driving at your car's speed limit ? I think it should be more fun with 3.62 and S/C ...

Do you have no cats or just the rear cats and resonators deleted? How do you like it? Is it very raspy?
