If that doesn't take you directly to the red m3 sedan. Check their inventory, it's the only m3 there. It has extended black leather Lots of pics too |

Honestly, it is hard to get an appreciation for black extended leather in pics, because it just looks black. You just have to see it in real life side by side with the non-extended interior to appreciate the difference.

Yep. I have extended black and it is just nice to have leather covered surfaces instead of plastic like a Honda Accord. Some might not see the value in that especially with black but I like it.

I have black extended too and it is very nice in person. No pics to share right now though. If you get a chance to check it out in person I'd recommend it. I ordered without having seen extended black and am pleased.

Yes, exactly what Sam and blonde said! While many feel that because it is all black the lack of color contrast makes black extended a waste of money, I feel having the leather is SO much nicer than having that much more plastic inside the car. Well worth the money to me...

Black Extended is not very common at all, in my experience.

Your picture is actually very good, and shows the transmission tunnel leather very well. It makes the M3 look a bit more upscale, like the interior on a 6er, etc. |

I wish my car had extended leather. Though it did not come from the factory with it, I retrofitted the center console and glovebox with OEM parts. It looks really good, as the stitching on the console and glove box are most pronounced. I would get it if I was getting another black interior and am not sure why more cars don't have it. Dealers order $5000 paint jobs for individual cars and don't check the extended leather option!

Here you go...
As someone already said extended leather doesn't touch the doors but still nice to have all the pics in one place!

Black Extended is very difficult to see in pictures, it's visually the same color as the black plastic. It's not a very commonly ordered option b/c of this as well, b/c it's hard to sell and market. Likely, most ppl who order extended order it in other colors b/c the contrast color is more appealing and pops out.
But the pic above this post really shows it on the rear door where it's covered from the top to the bottom, whereas the standard only has leather on the middle section. It's more noticible by driver as it's on the center console on the shifter, steering column's dash, and hvac controls. |

Black extended leather puts leather on the dashboard and center console instead of cheap plastic. It's a absolutely necessary upgrade for an M3.

really, then pics really doesn't do it justice, b/c I can't tell on the doors whether it's plastic or leather. I thought the doors were covered too in addition to the center console and front dash. hence my point, the black leather on black plastic doesn't stand out much, at least not in pics.

Is the dash plastic or leather? Pics above look like plastic still. Personally, I think the cheap, plastic looks awful on a $70K car. Think that's my biggest issue with the M3...

How much of a pain in the ass was it to switch-out the center console?
