M3 vs GTR in another spec

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=137346

Woah! two major price changes in under a year!

No LC next year too, wtf!

The GTR is a faster car but worth 20k+ more? No way.

Ugh, another price increase.

In the article they say "boost margins". I would call that spinning. I'd be willing to bet it is "cut losses" to be perfectly honest. I posted a quick "back of the envelope" calculation long ago here that showed the GT-R was likely losing money on every car sold at the initial price. These multiple and large price increases are indications I was correct.

I'd take an M3 over that ANY day. Nissan can keep the 20k extra.
Who cares about a few tenths of a second faster?

I think edmunds tested out the GTR without LC and it did 0-60 in 4.3. Sorry guys but this can no longer b considered a supercar, being that its only about .3 tenths of a sec quicker then the M3 im willing to bet with a few good mods and chip then M3 will keep up easily.

Everyday Nissan comes closer and closer to reality. So that puts the v-spec GTR in the 150k range?

$93k.. now we're getting into GT3 territory, and there is no way I would take a GTR over a GT3.

Wow that is pricey. Makes the 09 ones, which on still on eBay seems like a deal.

Another ugly, overpriced, Japanese piece of junk. The M3 is art in motion.

It's still just a Nissan, no heritage there!

Pretty sure I have seen better for the GT-R without LC. Either way to 100 or in the 1/4 with or without LC it will tromp the M3. However, the M3 definitely has done better. Its best to 60 has been 4.1 and average is about 4.4. Have a look here at this useful performance "database" for the M3.

That price does not really apply, it is a converted number from Japanese currency.

Regardless, the GTR is growing on me. Ugh, I need a supercharger.

I thought the only 4.1s times for the M3 were with roll out. The 4.3s time for the GTR was without LC and roll out.

It lets them feel good about themselves owning a BMW; more so because of a nice little "M" badge.

Let's see these people engineer a better car than Nissan, rather than buy one that is subjectively better; which any idiot can do

The GTR may be ugly but it's faster than a lot of cars out there even without LC. Which was kinda its point to begin with. I would rather have an M3 but even then I would be b*tching about a lot of things about my car.

it does have a heratige, just not as prestigeous as the M brand, but a huge cult following none the less and always better performance numbers.
always electronics ahead of it's time.

just never a fan of the styling, but no one can debate the performance.

Sounds like the folks who bought the initial GTR batches at MSRP made a good investment...

Definately. Still quite a few 09's available on eBay and at dealers for near current MSRP. Anyone's who looking, might be a good time.
