Preparing your Windows 10 Computer for tuning
Hi Guys, I thought I'd put this up a reference for those who either want to tune or jump in to the software and check or clear codes. Prior to Win 8 you could install drivers for the tuning end user cable with just a warning. Since Windows 8 you can't, you have to disable driver signature enforcement in the Windows Boot menu before Windows open. You know you have succeeded when the no signed driver warning comes up before the software is installed.
With newer versions of Windows 10 creators edition the disable menu is even harder to find in advanced boot up so I've made a short video for those who want to install or reinstall the end user cable. Note if you have Windows 10 Pro and Bitlocker enabled you will have to disable bitlocker before doing the following. Generally this only has to be done once to install the drivers, after that you should be able to use the cable normally. Don't forget to have the cable plugged into your PC when isntalling the drivers (but not for the procedure in the video) This also works if you have a Mac running Windows under bootcamp Hope this is of some assistance Cheers Dave |
