Help Me Decide on My Next Exhaust

Alright,

I have made a few threads in the past but I am still torn on deciding on my next exhaust. I know a lot of this is personal preference but I wanted to get some real world responses from folks with experience in the potential systems I am looking at. This will also be my third exhaust and I want to get it right this time.

Past/Current setup:

1. (Past) Full Valvetronic Catless Exhaust - Loud but not in a good way. I am ok with loud but there is not a whole lot of engineering in the sound as this is basically a straight piped setup (minus the two resonators). Even with the ability to close the valves (which emits a horrible muffled noise imo) I found this setup to be a bit too much. Coupled with it being catless the fumes just got to me so it was quickly sold.

2. (Current) Evolve X-Pipe HFC + Corsa Rear - Emits a beautiful exotic tone with absolutely no drone. The HFC on the X-pipe cut the smell and I can drive with the windows down (which I do 95% time living in Florida) without issue. Unfortunately, this setup leaves much to be desired in overall volume. IMO it is just a bit too quiet for me and I am looking to turn up the heat a little bit.

That leaves me in sort of a middle ground where straight pipes is too much but a "sport" muffler like the Corsa is not enough.

I have narrowed my selection down to three options based on video clips (does not do justice unfortunately) and reviews from individuals on this forum.

(Potential Future Options)
All of these will be paired with an Evolve HFC X-Pipe to reduce fumes:
1. Eisenmann Race
2. Meisterschaft GT (not GT2)
3. Borla Atak
4. Other (Comment below)

Can anyone comment on how these exhausts compare when paired with HFC X-pipe in terms of volume, tone, drone, and overall driving experience? Looking for something louder than my current setup but certainly not straight pipe loud. I do not DD my car so minor drone is not the end of the world but would like to avoid it to some degree if possible.

Thanks,

unfortunately, going louder = introducing more rasp.

but if i had to pick my favorite combo has always been challenge sport + eisenmann Race.

lil raspy on the low rpm end. but screams beautifully up top.

My vote is for “other” - Strömung (AE) rear section. I have it paired with an x-pipe with HFC secondaries. It’ll be pretty damn loud when you want it to be and not raspy at all.
Some tolerable drone around 2-2200 rpm in my DCT car in 6th/7th gear under load but I also have no rear seat so that may make it a bit worse than it would be otherwise
And it’s cheaper than the others listed too!

What is the difference between this and the AE version? I know there was a group buy a few months back but not sure there is any difference other than branding.

This topic has been beaten to death I know. I just can’t fathom doing this a fourth time so I wanted input. Sorry to clog the forum.

Just the lack of Paul Walker tribute plaque welded to one of the cans and the exhaust tips. Everything else is the same internally

Well at least you’re cognizant of it hah!

But also, have you checked the stickies? We have like 22 exhausts (maybe more now) of different setups WITH videos. Some people don’t check those and lots of good videos and sounds there as well!

Akra is the best for cars with an aftermarket x pipe imo, I have borla attack with just test pipes and its annoying.

When you say annoying is it just too loud or does it drone?

Since you have the Evolve X-pipe, you should try the Evolve Etronic rear exhaust. I had the evolve etronic paired with the OEM x-pipe. With the valves open it was fun and there was no drone. After a year or so I wanted something a little quieter and I went with an Akra. The Etronic paired with Evolve X-pipe will definitely give you more volume.

Unfortunately evolve does not make these anymore. I would love to complete the system with the etronic full setup.

I’m in the process of pairing my Kreissieg rear with an Evolve x-pipe.

it does drone slightly, but not bad if cruising at low rpm. it is very loud though on cold start and when pushing the gas. i would also say it doesnt sound very special, very corvette like.
the annoying is the tone doesnt match the cost, the fitment is bad and the tips look cheap, and the slight drone. to me any drone is annoying.
also cold starts are extremely loud

I was under the impression Evolve could still make the Etronic if you really wanted one. I know there have been a couple GB over the past few years. That is how I got mine. The shop that makes the exhaust for Evolve still has all the tooling. I would guess the exhaust would be pretty expensive, but not as expensive as an Akra.

I looked at the Jahre, looks like just straight pipes with resonators no? MY guess is it would be absurdly loud.

Overpaying for a muffler - I wouldn’t do any of them, and would go with that Ali Xpress True X merger.
