Upsizing tires with OEM 18s

Did a search and found some recommendations, but not sure what the best option would be.

Seems like the recommendations are

255/40/18 and 265/35/18
275/40/18 285/35/18

The 275/40 has a rather beefy sidewall so I'm wondering how that will look. I'd be set with the 265/285 combo, but the front wheel is just 8.5" and 265s are not recommended. There are some that run 265s with that size wheel, but not sure if it's worth any hassle.

So any tips? Or should I just stick with OEM sizes.

Here are the tire calculator links if anyone if anyone is interested.
