Is there a limit on Launch Control
Hi,
I have E92 M3 DCT. I've done about 5k miles. Recently it went for a software upgrade at my local dealer. After this, my Launch Control doesn't work. It will go into S6, the flag will display, it will also display Launch Control on the screen. The car will rev, but when the gear lever is released it will not launch. The revs will come right down. The will not move at all. Have been into Dealer twice, with more software upgrades still same problem. Is there a limit on the amount of launch controls that you can do? Any Help please.... |

The car needs to read the oil level after which LC functions normally, it takes a while for oil level measurement after the upgrade. Drive the car for 50 miles or so in one go, everything should return to normal

Others in the UK have lost LC altogether after the DCT update..... I had the update a week ago but haven't reached 1250 miles yet so won't know if Launch Control has been impacted or not.

If the engine oil read is not done then the car will not even go into launch control mode, ie flag does not display.... |

I'll be really pissed if they take away launch control. Just another reason not to get the update. I was mad that the US never got the real launch control on the E46 M3 SMG as they had in Europe.

Yes only for DCT. However if you're really skilled one can have a better launch on a manual transmission vs. the DCT.

Yes you can do that but don't dump the clutch. Hardcore drag racers will carefully modulate the clutch and gas pedal for a good launch. Of course this will increase wear in the clutch itself.

I got the run-in service done at about 1,100 miles. I just turned 1205 miles and I tired to see if I could get the Launch Control Flag. No not yet. I hope it magically appears soon.
