I don't understand 'Infiniti's' strategy. They spent so much money on building the high revving VQ35 V6 thats present in the current G35 sedan and now, they are replacing it with the high revving VQ37? Anyway, this could only be good news for the consumers

Anyhow Wow...thats going to be cool! G37 sedan with 7 speed auto and 330 hp....I like it .

Another thing..... op, any idea on the price and a release date? And care to share on your sources?

I like how they play 1-up on BMW by skipping a 6spd auto altogether and just slotting in a 7spd.

I'd like to see performance and mpg numbers now, but this definitely makes the G a more compelling option than before.

Well the HR engines were being used since the 06 G35's and Z's. I wonder how drastic of a price drop the 08 G sedans will go through when this comes out.

true but they will never sell as many of those as BMW does 3 series which is what really matters. I drove the new g37 coupe and was disapointed with it. I like the G35 better. The car just does not feel like it has 330hp and the hadling and sterring was sloppy. I drove an S with the 19" wheels also. Not a bar car at all but a 328i coupe is more fun to drive.

I have seen that as well but the numbers never tell the whole story. The are plently of FWD cars that pull more g's than a 335i and g37 that dont handle anywhere near as well. If you drove both cars back to back like I did at the track as well as the street you would understand what I saying a little more.Handling has a lot more to do with other factors besides the generic skidpad testing.

Also the steering in the G37 does not fell as sporty or tight as the 3 series line. The 330hp also fells like a gross over exageration whic was a big dissapointment after driveing a 335. I really did like the car but i expected it to be way better than the only G35 coupe/sedan and it was not. The styling on the old g35 coupe was nicer as well I think and i usually do not like the older designs on cars. The G35 coupe is the pinnacle of Infiniti design and I doubt they will ever have a car as good looking as that g35 coupe.

I have an open mind for all cars and also saw an article where the 328i was chosen over the G for many of the same reasons I mentioned. The magazines are all opinion as I Know but in the article a lot of valid points (IMO) were talked about. I have nothing against the car but it just is not much fun to drive as and 3 series IMO.

Sounds very familiar.

Although they waited 2 years instead of 1.

cool, i actually did so as well at laguna seca. i actually felt less body roll in the 37. power was about equal. steering was lighter in the 37, which made for some interesting power slides (read: i was laughing smiling my ass off). its funny, i thought the 335i was more comfortable while the 37 was on more on the edge of my seat. i didnt bother driving the 328. theres no way 100 fewer hp is going to be equally as fun.

if i am to get a heavy bulky car i'd take G37 over S4 for sure, at least no problems, and much more nimble than current S4 at least, or even S5

Ehhh, I won't believe the numbers until I see the dyno graph's. Japanese auto makers are known to over estimate thier horsepower and torque #'s.

Take a look at the current G37 coupe... the 335 takes it, STOCK. Yet the G37 has more HP from the manufacturer. And yes, I am speaking from experience.

I don't think its even comparable to the 335... You know how BMW is the "Ultimate Driving Machine"? Well Infiniti is the "Satisfactory Driving Machine".
